The Pace Report: "Affirming The Vision" The Nicole Zuraitis Interview
Congratulations to jazz vocalist Nicole Zuraitis on being nominated for Best Jazz Vocal Album in the 2024 66th Annual Grammy Awards for her "How Love Begins" recording. This album was written, arranged, and produced by Nicole and co-produced by Grammy-award-winning bassist and composer Christian McBride. The album features her husband and drummer Dan Pugach, Christian McBride on bass, Maya Kronfeld on organ, Gilad Hekselman on guitar, and special guests David Cook and Billy Kilson.
Nicole just released her second release of the year, "Caffeine and Affirmations", an EP of five songs featuring special guest vocalists Thana Alexa and Cyrille Aimee. On this special edition of The Pace Report, Nicole performs music from "Caffeine and Affirmations" for her official record release performance at Drom in New York City with her band featuring Dan Pugach on drums, Miki Hayana on piano and keyboards, Dan Morim on guitar, and Sam Weber on bass.
Nicole and Brian sit down to discuss both releases, her collaboration with Christian McBride, and how Opera music was key in helping her develop her vocal style.
