That’s a clean hit too. All shoulder, head up, kept his feet on the ground. Just absolutely wrecked that chump.

Harden was eventually convicted of two counts of felony theft in 2002. He also had 17 other counts against him that were eventually dropped in exchange for pleading guilty to the two counts. He was sentenced to six years, initially to be served in a halfway house but when he violated the rules of his sentence he was required to serve out the rest of his sentence in prison. A real class act.

Great additional info. Harden was a goon. If anyone wants to see the way Harden took Largent's head off earlier in the season, search YT for "When Steve Largent Pulled Off The Greatest Revenge Moment in NFL History"

People see this play in that Steve Largent made on Harden was the best play in Seahawk History. True story to this end: Steve Largent DID NOT GET FINED BY THE N.F.L.

There have been many Great Players in Seattle Seahawks History ,but absolutely No one will ever equal # 1 in my book like Steve Largent. This coming from a So-cal women whom grew being a Fan of the Seahawks back in the 70's. He is the reason why I became a Fan and still am...Go Hawks !

On what would seem to be a lesser level, one thing about Harden's hit on Largent that bothered Steve so much was that it broke the face mask on Steve's helmet. That helmet was a few years old and Riddell no longer manufactured that same design of face mask anymore. One reason why it broke so easily. A brand new helmet that year (1988) may not have broken at all. Steve said it was a favorite helmet of his.

I’m from colorado and I loved this hit from largent he was a great guy and player. No one I was with watching with liked the hit he took. We were all concerned for him. Nothing better than a legal hit that leveled him and recover a fumble beautiful.

As a Charger fan back then, I always liked Charlie Joiner better than the other Charger receivers. And when Largent would shred our defense, just tipped our hats to him. Largent was the man.

I was an Orange Crush fan. I wanted to wear 77 in Pop Warner because of Mecklenburg. I would have been just fine if Largent had ended Mike Harden that day. I felt the same about Owens when Teague hit him on the Dallas star. I think that may be the single time I ever rooted for a Cowboy.🤣

ah man they dont talk about the lead up. the play before blades and another bronco got into it but blades didnt do anything and the ref called a fould on both. largent was very angry and you could even heard him yell at the ref. thats why they went back to that play, once again the defender fouled again and thats why blades is so off but largent angry over the last call and it being harden just let it all out. that should have been told.

Sad epilogue: The play didn’t count. A penalty was called on Denver and Chuck Knox took the penalty instead of letting Largent get his fumble recovery.
