I had an S5 MK1, until my whole bag got stolen... three primes and the basic zoom it came with... then I just went back to Sony and got the a7 IV as I wanted phase detect and a few more MP for my photo work. But I really... really loved the IBIS in the S5! Holy moly the a7IV has horrendous IBIS in comparison.

I think part of the problem with achieving higher frame rates (beyond readout speed) is that the sensor has to have an amazing signal-to-noise ratios. As you increase fps, you're exposing for a smaller and smaller amount of time, and if you don't have enough light, it becomes harder and harder to capture a meaningful image. I think that's part of the reason why phantom cameras end up being so expensive.

Everyone knows the perfect camera is a drone swarm of 360 degree cameras that create and render a perfect scale model of the 3d space they encompass and then you just put together your shots in post in software that lets you place a camera in 3d space that will simulate any camera and lens ever built and render the footage perfectly. Or if you want even more control, you just pop on your VR goggles and walk through the scene like the holodeck on star trek with your computer generated camera and you can film the scene in "manual mode"
@solagraphy
@solagraphy Жыл бұрын
Neural Radiance Fields (NeRFs) already do just that. Can rebuild the space and render photos and videos from a moment long gone. While it works with them it doesn't need drones or 360 cameras, ironically iphone pros using lidar are one of the easiest quality methods of capturing with that tech right now. Quality when done right is as photorealistic as a real photo but its just gonna keep getting easier and easier for people to make with even less captured data required.

Not all cameras have a 4:3/3:2 aspect ratio sensor then crops into 16:9. For e.g., the GH5S has a multi-aspect ratio sensor that extends past the image circle so it retains the same diagonal angle of view, maximizing the usage of the image circle. That said, more cameras should be like this, especially in m43 since a native 4:3 sensor utilizes less of its sensor in movie mode compared to a FF/APS-C camera with a native 3:2 sensor in movie mode.
