1/2 cup or 50 g dark brown sugar (light brown sugar will work)
Zest from 2 medium oranges
3 cups or 360 g all purpose flour (spooned and leveled)
1 tbsp baking powder
2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp fresh ground nutmeg (pre ground works)
1/4 cup or 60 mL cold heavy cream
1 tbsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup or 118 mL milk of your choosing
1 cold large egg
2 tbsp milk for brushing the top
