9:54 the ~40 euros is for the annual pass. A single ticket for adults is between 18 and 25 euros depending on the season. (kids are around 8 euro)

The Cafe Sten Sture has an interesting history. In 1792 the king Gustav III was killed by a man called Jacob Johan Anckarström. He was found guilty and was held imprisoned in the dungeon until he was hanged. The dungeon is part of todays Cafe Sten Sture.

That "palace" was always intended to be an elderly care home. The turn of the century from 19th to 20th was just a time for making everything pompous.

Thats my favorite cafe at skansen too. Only downside is they dont have an espresso machine, but that would also take away some of its charm and swedish tradiarion of cofee in grandma mugs. Their outside tables are so cozy in the spring when the sun starts to finally warm

Oh how cool you've been to that cafe! Yes, I did quite enjoy the grandma cups and coffee in a pot - definitely makes it cozy! I can imagine it would be lovely in warmer weather!

I loved this video! I want to go there just for the pastries and the Fika! Old Town reminded me of Old Town in Zurich which we loved! The cobblestone streets are so cool. We've just returned from 10 days in Queenstown NZ and had a fabulous time!

In Sweden, the fika rast or coffee break is really important. It’s for everyone. Newly employed or CEO, you are expected to be there and socialise. Avoiding it because you are busy is bad. Kanelbulle is something you should try if you get here and don’t miss the Semla if you are here during January until Easter which is the season for this pastry

The elderly care home is interesting. Many years ago a russian ship cam to Stockholm amd it may not have had proper maps. The Captain thought he was looking at the Royal Castle so he shot salute. It probably scared those that were there

@@chloeandludvig If you like street food, maybe you tried the ”tunnbrödsrulle”. It’s very popular but endemic to Sweden. I knew the guy who invented it. His kiosk, Loffes Grill, was close to where I grew up in a Stockholm suburb. One day came someone and ordered something for which he didn’t have the ingredients. Unwilling to lose a customer, he improvised and used what he had and the customer was quite happy so it became a new dish. When Anthony Bourdain visited Sweden he tried one but not from Loffe. You can find videos on the tunnbrödsrulle on youtube.

This old wives tale has been told about various navies at different times. It's somewhat ironic that the version with the ship being Russian became the most common one as it is entirely implausible. The Russian navy has only been allowed to visit once, and that was much, much more recent than the this tall tale.

Cool video, as a swede touristing in stockholm is basically exactly what u did. Walkin around Skansen is a must and as an animal lover its a great aquarium and really great enclosures for the animals.

I used to live on the top floor of the building opposite the Nobel museum at Stortorget. I like to say its the least photographed building in Gamla Stan since its right next to the much more interesting coloured buildings, still fun to see it on every vlog pretty much

The tour guide hade wrong. Cinderella was the party boat but have now been insert on the route Stockholm - Helsinki and are a normal ferry, before she did partycruises 23 hours to Mariehamn. Now the company have a new ship to do these cruises but i do not think she ever will be at the same level of partycruises as Cinderella.

So sorry I'm late to this vid, but while I'd like to say I was just enjoying our garden and the weather (which I was), it was really that I got very angry at the latest Star Wars show!😂 Don't worry, I could never be angry at you or Ludwig,...unless there's an obscure Scandinavian folk tradition that involves kicking puppies in which case we would no longer be friends.😡 This is an absolutely delightful and informative vid. One thing, you had an absolutely appetizing meal at the Michelin Starred restaurant...how much did your meal cost? Because Michelin would usually be PRICEY!!! Sooo, looking forward to the train!💕

There is more than 10.5, there was going to be a count but the governement cancelled it. They did an estimate of over 17 million. I would guess 20-25.
