The Perfection is a Netflix horror movie about a troubled musical prodigy that returns to a prestigious music academy to find out someone has taken her place, and sinister things follow. This is one of the most disturbing Netflix movies that I have ever seen, and it's so crazy that I had to make this video. In this video, I go through the insane plot of The Perfection.

It does not grow that much in a few weeks. That's easily a few months. Idk if you've ever shaved your head but if you got that back in a few weeks you need to be studied by scientists.

How thick the strand of hair is, how healthy the person is, even some people's DNA makes their hair grow a little faster than usual. But I agree that at least a month must have passed for her hair to be like that.

@@WhereNothingOnceWasthe average hair growth is about half an inch to an inch per month, more depending on diet/nutrition. Given hospital food is packed with nutrition, and her hair looks to be about an inch long, she’s only been out for a few weeks/one month. (I’m a former cosmetologist)

The craziest shit in this movie is that this girl Charlotte was Wiki-ing how to tourniquet an arm on the bus and handed the dirtiest ass meat cleaver for this girl to cut off her hand, and was still like “Don’t worry, I saved you.” Maybe just kill Anton at that point. Probably would’ve made things a bit easier and a little less traumatic, but yeah I guess cutting off the hand also works.

yeah idk about the hand cleaving. Like you said, there were better alternatives, or maybe she could have convinced her to get away, or even assist in killing in Anton. Drugging and manipulating someone to the point of severe self mutilation is pretty evil, and I think they only did it to make the movie over the top.

A wig on a wig was hilarious. It was implied that the revenge was premeditated but she sure was unprepared. A fractured arm or missing finger would have sufficed. I would help her carry out the plan but that's about it. I can't stay with someone who traumatized me to cure me of my trauma. And did the new student sleep through that entire fight 😅

The film did a great job of drawing me in but it petered out halfway through with a whole bunch of dumb shit. “I had this all planned out from the very beginning” blah blah blah! I’m sorry not everybody is Kaiser Soze and it gets old quick. This movie starts with a grade of B but quickly earns a D-. It just got dumb real quick. Maybe the writers got crunched up against the deadline or maybe they were just lazy but either way this picture was “meh” at best and stupid at worst.

I feel like this film was just short of being really good. Like it needed one more draft. It also reminds me of Asian horror, what with the psychological aspect, the betrayals and twists, and the semi-surreal image of both leads using each other's arms to successfully play. Strange Circus comes to mind especially.

I found this film very entertaining and I first watched it and the ending scene is definitely fucked up. One thing I’ve just noticed now is that the medication, levetiracetam, is the same medication I take for my epilepsy. I don’t know why they chose this out of every drug they could’ve chosen; it would’ve made more sense to slip some acid or another psychedelic into her water instead? Because levetiracetam most definitely doesn’t cause insane visuals or adverse effects of any kind (to me, anyway) and I’ve drank while taking it several times.

Movies deliberately spread misinformation like that for ethical reasons. In Fight Club, they talk about ways to make bombs that won’t actually create bombs for the same reason. Another example is that they’ll use rat poison in a murder plot, but humans have gag reflexes that prevent death by rat poison. It’s probably done to prevent legal liability.

probably because the writing isn't good enough to justify the characters doing all of this stupid shit to each other. lame backstories. comedically shallow villain. no balance of wickedness versus normalcy. just a lot of extreme trauma being answered with violence. the writers attempt to create deeper meaning with cheap tricks of symbolism and manipulating plot twists to constantly force you to rethink each psychotic moment of dehumanization. but the result is just so vapid. it's so stupid and poorly put together that you end up feeling sick because there truly is no significance to what you just wasted your time on.

FYI the short hair/wig thing IS important because it was a moment of her very defiantly stripping away key aspects of the sex appeal that Anton wanted - no, demanded - she exhibit. Anton is definitely the type to want his females to be soft and quiet but with loooong hair and Lara Croft bodies.

@@id1550 the commenter is projecting onto anton's character without context or citing from the movie to back it up. furthermore, they are casting a negative light on females that have specific qualities by associating them with only sick men. that's what mats is calling out and rightly so. this DannyD person has the critical thinking capacity of a toxic high school kid who thinks they are finding some deep ass meaning to a wig rip moment. however, the lara croft bodies comment speaks to someone who can only make references that a 30-year-old+ could make - and can't even use that reference correctly. the bodies of the two adult victims are flat and twiggy like vikander's version of lara croft, but certainly not voluptuous like what lara is originally portrayed as. basically it's just better to throw a red flag at someone with this kind of comment and try to scroll past asap.

God, I remember watching this with my cousin when we were like, probably 15/16, and my aunt walking in towards the end like "what the fuck is this shit?" like we weren't just as shocked as she was lmao. Neither of us thought to check the ratings and even if we did, I doubt netflix's content warnings would've been enough. Definitely a bit of a different horror vibe than we bargained for. I'm surprised we finished it- I don't really have a strong stomach for gross visual stuff, even as an adult now. Anyway, cool to see someone talking about it! I haven't seen any other videos cover this movie but I've wondered what other people thought. Good video!
