Eli is a 2019 Netflix horror movie that is one of the most ridiculous pieces of content I’ve seen on the Netflix platform. With a twist that is so crazy that I was honestly left shocked. So obviously I had to make a video about it.
In Eli, A boy becomes trapped in a haunted house while undergoing a mysterious doctor's miraculous treatment for a rare disease. In this video, I break down the outrageous plot of this movie.

@@trayclancy honestly though it is nice to know that despite his short term memory loss (he still has his long term memory and can tell you the name of his neighbors in 1950 and the names and ages of their seven children but he can’t remember what was said to him thirty seconds ago) he is still happy and sarcastic and enjoying life. I’ve seen other dementia patients who don’t get visited by family and it’s almost like they are vegetables but we are with my grandfather literally every waking hour (I personally take 10 hour shifts on both Saturdays and Sundays) and he is still laughing and genuinely happy. We have him in a nursing home just cuz we need the backup of medical assistance while he’s sleeping plus he has activities to go to and can socialize with people his own age. But any nursing home it seems like there’s no in between. Either the family is there daily or they never visit. The people who never get visitors MAYBE gets family to visit on major holidays like Christmas. And unfortunately only a handful gets visitors. He’s been at a nursing home going on three years so I know who gets visitors and who doesn’t. Now I know most families cannot afford to not work and be with their elderly loved ones daily. However there’s no excuse for family not to be able to visit at the very LEAST one hour a month even if you don’t live out of town. Now I know some people would argue maybe they can’t afford it however if you’re paying what it costs to live where my grandfather is at then you can afford a southwest round trip flight once a month. You have no idea how many times I’ve brought my baby up and other residents mistake her for their grandchild or great grandchild and as long as they are not a risk to her, I don’t correct them. I don’t have the heart to. The way people treat their elderly family members when they have the means to do better by absolutely disgusts me. Not everybody has the means but where he’s at they most definitely do. Karma’s gonna get them when they get older.

@changingthelawsofphysics no reason that just because you have Alzheimer’s you can’t still enjoy horror movies. I just love his sense of humor about it. I’ve been his caretaker for two and a half years and he laughs and smiles and jokes all day long. I’m so happy to know that he is genuinely happy even if he no longer has his short term memory. I’ve seen several others with his same condition and they’re just vegetables and I hate it for them. It makes it all worthwhile knowing that my grandfather is genuinely happy. I hope when I’m his age my grandchildren watch horror movies and spend ten hours a day with me. If only I could be so lucky.

To clarify, when operating with anything below the waist (if it is not a large area to operate), usually, the anesthetic if only going to affect the lower body, thus there is no need for him to be asleep for the operation, especially when they are only taking bone marrow (which I can assume is what they are doing in the movie). Next, most operations with the brain requires the patient to be awake, to continually assess their cognitive function. They will be given a mild sedative to make you feel relaxed, but the anesthetic a general type.

Nah usually during brain surgery the patient is put to sleep. Theres is that one true story about how one girl woke up during it, and she asked the doctors, how is it going? Then they talked about cats the rest of the operation.

I have to agree. I’m not into the narrate whole movie thing. But I was curious about Let Me In and watched that and this one just coz I liked the narration. This movie would have been soo much better if it was a psychological horror with plot twists, like the mom had mental issues and she banged a person she hallucinated to be satan. That bone drilling part is actually quite accurate. It's called a bone marrow biopsy and local anesthesia is completely fine. As long as the local anesthetic reaches the membrane on the bone, it will be powerful enough. It's performed on the hip bone in the movie btw.

Funny how this video tries to make it sound bad, but for me it ended up making it seem like a pretty decent movie. I don't know if it's fun to watch because I've only seen this video, but the twist seems pretty cool and the jumpscares seem at least a bit more original than most popular horror films lately.

Lily Taylor could of been outstanding. She's so brilliant but her choice of roles. She did this movie with River Phoenix...except Six Feet Under all down hill. I really like your channel.
