Around the middle of the 90s, I had been in a specialized store to buy a cassette device and the seller had made me a demo with the Philipps 900 DCC that I had loved, more expensive than the Denon DRW 750A analog that I bought (500,00$ can) and still have. And to think that now I would love to buy a DCC reader but cannot be found ... or very expensive. Thank you for bringing back so many beautiful memories.

We have a Philips DCC 900 that we use as the "master" mix down recorder from our TASCAM DP-32. We love the gorgeous sound quality, ease of operation and the compression rate is so perfect, we do not master our final product. Our 1st two albums can be heard on our KZfaq channel.

Lovely to see another DCC video and Mine has been getting some very much needed play time with all my self Recorded DCC Tapes.I own the Marantz DD82 I bought brand new in 1992 and Touch wood it’s still to this day playing fine.I have not recorded from it for a while but playback is still perfect and the sound is still gorgeous and warm. I’ve never Cleaned the heads ever or changed any capacitors since I bought it new but being in the UK there are no outlets or Repair outlets that I know of to even consider getting mine recapped or serviced which I’m sure it definitely needs. At the moment though it’s playing Just fine. I do know of others I’ve read using their DD82/DD92 Solely as DACS which I consider a waste of a player but to be honest not sure how this is done. I try to give my DD82 player at least 3-4hrs use every couple of days if possible As I fear leaving it unplayed for long periods of time could only harm the unit. Wish I could find a UK Service centre To get mine Serviced but to no avail which is a shame. Keep up the great work and Videos Dr DCC as I always look forward to them.🙏

If you are a little bit handy, you could remove the mechanism. It is not hard. The package would be relatively small and you could send it to us for maintenance. We are happy to help. We have a detailed video available on how to remove the mechanism.

@@DRDCC Thank You very much Sir and I will certainly look for your Upload of that as I think that would be the way to tackle this as sending the full player may be costly as well as a risk of postal damage. I Really appreciate your help on this 🙏

I have seen similar amplifier set up with a plexiglass top cover ( Technics SU-MA10 ) for the German promo purposes. It even had a marked sections of what is what and written in German/English. Pretty cool 😎

@DRDCC2 жыл бұрын
You would have to replace all 17 smd capacitors. We have a video about this as well.

Hello ! Looking at a dcc 900 and the seller say that no sound out from the player. What can be wrong.....easy to fix ? Does it play and record cassette tapes ?
@DRDCC6 ай бұрын
Most likely the capacitors are leaking and caused damage. Unless you are willingly entering a project, be careful. Consider buying only a fully restored one.

@@DRDCC Have a good ( and low price ) mechanic ) , maby he will look at it ? Want to record digital , how much can i record digital on a cassette tape ? Have also a Pioneer CT - W806DR with digital processing with 20 bit A/D - D/ A converter. Is this better to record ( as much as it can ) than Philips DC 900 ?
@DRDCC6 ай бұрын
@@stiffe68 Maybe it will be ok. It all depends on the price you need to pay for the unit plus repair. We are happy to help as well. You can record up your 90 minutes on a DCC. There are also 105 minute tapes, but those are a rare find.

You say replacing those 5 capacitors,, but I count 7 capacitors, I have the DCC 951, and also do have an open/close printed on it, but do have those shit capacitors in it, that,s why It not working
@DRDCC3 жыл бұрын
Hi,. Only 5 smd capacitors. Those are the problem ones on this board. The regular through hole on the other side are ok. Your 951 is not the same as the early 900. The 951 was made years later in 1994/1995.

@@DRDCC I just get sound out of the DCC951, but only when I play the demonstration DCC cassette, if I play a pre-recorded title or one I had recorded, there be no sound and say sometimes clean head, it not say it whit the demonstration cassette, and wen try a regular analog cassette, only hear blop....blop...about ever second, sound as a broke capacitor, but weird that the demo cassette just seems to play,s just ok
@JohnBoonBeanDutchman3 жыл бұрын
It,s the DCC DEMON STRATION cassette (Polygram special projects) that I only can hear, I do have the TOTALLY DCC SADC 546 cassette, but it gets broken in the DCC134/00 small player that had fallen on the ground ones and not be working, but if I m correct I must have 2 off those TOTALLY DCC SADC 546 cassette,s ( recorded in the USA)

@@DRDCCMy DCC 951be back alive and good working Only did replace the power capacitor (50v 2200 μF) And on all those SMD capacitors in my machine was nothing leaking or bad to see In my DCC951 think from 2015 And It seems to be Panasonic brand If correct some more (a total of 19 SMD (12 x10μF, 7x47μF) presumably also better quality than those previously used SMD capacitors in other models, And if some extra MSDs have been used in the later 951 version. the temperature would then be better spread over the multiple parallel-connected SMDs and therefore less burdensome My cleaning cassette seems not to be working as not did make swipe moves, did notes it after had opening the top cap. of the DCC 951 So did tried it with a cotton swab and Propranolol Alcohol, but still kept it giving clean head and dropouts problems So I had cleaned the head and drive with a cotton swab with a little CONTACT CLEANER on it and it DID plays like new again,😏👍 (contact cleaner also can release some oxidation/corrosion attack and protected also) And P.S Here ones in the news, is that EEC concluded out of an investigation that ten electrolytic cap manufacturers from Asia did form a price cartel, at least between 1997 up to 2014., that maybe was be the issue of some bad capacitors in those that time 🤔
