And this is so valuable. In my home town in northern Ontario there is a family of interestingly rowdy brothers all fantastic storytellers. I don't drink but used to go to the booze-up just to hear one of the Emerson brothers chat. Just chat. And fabulous stories fall out.

Bob Mortimer is also a fabulous WILTY storyteller - topped off with Lee Mack's lightning wit and David Mitchell's eloquent rants, the programme is a sheer delight imo. 😊

I really can't get my head around why people find him hard to understand. He speaks excellent English and pronounces every word perfectly. His accent doesn't make it harder to hear either.

Scottish, have a great comedian in every generation. Ordinary people are as funny as comedians. The Glaswegian slang is very funny, and generally Scottish banter is hilarious.

Even the closed caption system has no idea what this guy is saying. At around 3:50 or so the caption read, "mayhem and shoes," but I believe he said "mayhem ensues." Don't quote me on that though.

Okay I need some clarification regarding that last part.. Am I correct in interpreting "skins" as rolling papers? If so, why would he take three, specifically because of being a hash smoker? WTF are you up to in britain?

Correct. With a careful lick here and there it was possible to combine two or more regular papers or 'skins' into something much larger. With skill it could be rolled into a giant joint. It could then be shared among a larger group or maybe just for the purpose of showing off. He's humorously equated this with rolling fajitas at a family BBQ.

@@sullisen im about the same age as Kev, and bud was not plentiful in Scotland back then, so everybody smoked hash. You might even hear Scottish people refer to any kind of cannabis as "hash" which is obviously confusing. Totally applies to bud too though
