I’m 29 and I swear I’ve gone through two puberties. The first one when I was 16. The second when I was 25-26. My hips grew inches, my butt grew, and my boobs grew two sizes I gained a total of 20 pounds. My face also slimmed down where I lost my baby face. Girls, your body is a gift. Your gift. Cherish it. ❤️

Same idk they don’t teach us when we’re young that our body keeps changing as women. Your body as a teenager/early 20’s is not your body forever. At 25 I also grew so much more curvy and more weight. It just happened naturally. I am sure it’ll keep changing.

My boobs didn't start boobing until I was 26/27. A few days before my 10 year high school reunion, a bus driver wanted to know why I wasn't in school - she thought I was 17. At 40, I looked 30 before work stress started kicking my ass, but I still don't have visible wrinkles. All thanks to genetics, no kids, not trying to keep a man from cheating, drinking water & minding my business.

But I still pass for a high school teenage girl with my looks 😂 The only thing that difference is my eloquence, depth of knowledge and emotional intelligence. Please don't feel bad about yourself. It's a huge plus that you look younger than your age. When you should develop a deep sense of self worth and don't attach your self image to other people's validation of what it means to "look mature" Your essence and the depth of your intelligence would command respect. You have no business proving your age to people who judge you based on something as shallow as your young looks....for real ❤

I work in a high school and can say this conversation is mostly for the chronically online. Social media is exaggerating it. Little girls still look like little girls, the most the "cool girls/ it girls" at my school and the other High Schools I've engaged with are doing is maybe a little wig and lash. The beauty IRL is still very much giving young, youthful, clean girl, simple. I teach over 150 students and see nothing but bare faces, edges laid, age appropriate hair styles and outfits. In real life most people can't AFFORD to uphold these ideals. Before yall drag me I'm working at a HUGE popular high school in the middle of NYC, if the girlies aren't doing it here where are they doing it?

As a 8th grade middle school student in NY, I honestly have to disagree with you. Most of the girls here wear long lashes, long nails, weaves, outfits that show all of their bodies and everything. And what’s worse is that it’s not only the 8th graders, but it’s also the 7th graders who act like this and even some 6th grades. Every girl in the school has a boyfriend either in the school or outside of the school and are sexually active with them. If you’re a girl, you’re basically pressured to act like them because this “baddie” persona is all around you.

As an 18 year old going through a “glow up” … I agree. I feel like it also comes down for your reasoning. I feel like you should do it to genuinely improve your life, and not JUST because you want to be prettier. I’m 18 and I have very severe health anxiety. It completely stole my life away from me and I was depressed for a very very long time. I couldn’t enjoy family time anymore because I was always worried. I was stressed 24/7 and my brain never shut off. Eventually I got sick of being in this dark hole where I was surrounded by stress. So, I did look into glowing up. I started eating healthier, I found a therapist, I cleaned my room, I changed my wardrobe, I got into makeup, etc. and I’m a better person because of it. There’s nothing wrong with a glow up, but I feel like it should be to improve yourself and your life, not change you into a completely different person.

This is a topic that needs to be discussed more. I was just talking to my sisters about this topic some weeks ago. Whenever I stand beside a Gen Z, I usually assume they're around my age not until they now start talking, that's when I realise they're still kids. God help this generation. These kids are aging too fast. I wouldn't want to blame social media but parents really need to watch what their kids are being exposed out here on social media. Seeing 17 year olds trying to look like Cardi B who's in her 30s is just crazy. It's so bad to the extent that these days you'll see 14 year olds celebrating 2 years relationship anniversary which means they probably started dating at 12 years old. These kids should be worried about studying not being a baddie. They want to grown up so fast but there's time for everything.

Hey guys, coming from a 15 year old girl I just want to say that I do agree that the pressure to be a baddie is out of hand. But something the pressure to be or appear “youthful” get out of hand too. I had started puberty early and I kind of have a baby face but since I’m short if I wear oversized clothes I would be mistaken for a 7th grader. But at the same time, I had an awkward stage since I was 6 and I put on unhealthy weight. So now when people say things like “I didn’t get hips till 20+” it’s like you’re expecting us to not have these things but with biology end processed foods, being heavier or having more curves at a younger age is inevitable. Also with makeup, I try not to overdo it and I only do natural makeup. I use it to enhance my features and I think I look pretty with or without it but it’s a confidence boost. Idk about fake lashes now but I don’t think we should full on shame my generation for wanting to feel a little pretty. Especially with unhealthy foods becoming all the rage, I’m trying to be healthier and work out and I think that that has improved my looks and made be feel a lot better about myself and has had the same effect on others my age. So in conclusion I think that trying to “scare the youth” and pushing for “awkward stages” is also unhealthy. And you can always be pretty and young because aging is a part of life and you don’t have to choose to be pretty when you’re older or pretty now. There are so many beautiful older woman who have not had a horrible awkward phase. So wishing on us to have that feels weird. Balance is good and too much of anything isnt right. But the way kids will bully others kinda gives us a reason to want to “grow up fast” physically, yet the pressure to still look young when we get older is also unhealthy.
@midnightmid7118
@midnightmid7118 Ай бұрын
Now I’m not saying it’s bad to call parents out because at the end of the day, they are our 1st major influence and I think instead of only looking at the kids, look at the parents as well. Most of the parents are just throwing social media in their child’s face. Also allowing their kids to wear inappropriate clothing as a reflection of their younger self, and wanting to feel pretty at that age. I think that our generation can learn from this and learn that in the future, we should keep our children away from unrealistic standards and let them know that they are beautiful weather they want to wear makeup, play with dolls, or just read. Most of these things come from social media, so keeping kids away from apps like Snapchat, instagram, and TikTok, while letting them still have a taste of phones and media creates a healthy balance.

13:13 that same gender auntie😂. It's so crazy to think that we want to change ourselves so much. I just turned 18 a few weeks ago and I'm very sure I don't look like an 18 year old. I spent my birthday with just cake and literally no makeup on my face. I took pictures of course but I took them in my living room with just my phone, but yesterday one of my friends turned 18 and when I tell you that I couldn't even recognize her with all that make up and even the hair. When my mom saw her pictures she was like "who is that" I said it's*** and she was like no way. If not that I had met this girl in person I also would have thought it was someone else. Even the dresses that she wore in the pics they weren't too bad but they were not exactly right for someone who JUST turned 18 and this is coming from an 18 year old too. When I saw her studio pics I was like "I wish I looked this good in my pics" but then I just thought about my birthday. Although it was quiet or more on the low I still had so much fun with just my family and I wouldn't trade that time for any professionally taken pictures. Besides my pics were amazing because I always look stunning even when I'm not with a full face of makeup or with any makeup at that( not trying to sound narcissistic I just know that however I look is enough for me) and I know that all those crooked smiles in those pictures were genuine and not taken or forced so that I could look "picture perfect". I just hope that my friend did all of this for herself and not for anyone else or the world. Trust me I've been through that "I'm not pretty, I'm not perfect" stage and well that's what it is a stage. The only thing we need to glow up is our mindset, our self esteem. That should be the first thing we 'glow up' or improve. I think changing my mindset from the world's form of baddies really helped with that. I think another think that helped me is that I am surrounded by strong independent baddie women like my mom and even you auntie Lucy even though you're online❤. I love your definition of baddie and to me you are that definitely that definition and of course so is every woman I surround myself with or just happen to be with. I think another thing is also the people you actually surround yourself with, if they just want to get the attention of men you would also want to do that because you wouldn't want to feel left out that's just FOMO(fear of missing out) playing with you and all of us have FOMO at some point or the other the important thing is to know when to tune out that voice of "I have to be or look like that too" in our head so we can just have peace. I feel the most important thing in this world to have isn't money but our peace and freedom. I love your videos by the way, I always get hooked once I start any of them. I'm still navigating my life but with people like you on the internet that actually help and encourage childhood and teenhood(😂) it makes navigating so much easier. So thank you from even your younger audience❤. Don't stop what your doing for any reason please( well any bad reason because if you need to for your mental health or anything please take that break) We love you here❤

I was literally thinking of this last week. I’m 19 years old and when I see other girls around my age and lower it’s sad..even while growing up in middle school there were girls that were trying to grow up extremely too fast but not to this extent. This trend of being a baddie at a younger age is aging their appearance making them look like a 30 year old woman & I will never understand nor feed into the hype. The parents aren’t doing their job, they’re to busy being their friends instead of the guardian that God had set them to be in their lives..

And this gets real dangerous because men who think these kids are adults because they physically look old can get into serious trouble. If you point that trying to be grown is not a good idea out, you as the normal person will be attacked by people saying that you’re s3xu@lizing them and “how can you look grown” and these are the SAME PPL who will be appalled at how their 16 year olds are being mistaken for 25 year olds by 27 year old men. Looking like you got two mortgages and have had a mid life crisis at 12 is NOT the flex ppl think it is. It makes no sense.

So glad I’m not on this trend and let’s be honest it’s all fake. The wigs, the makeup, the everything. Without all that crap people don’t even look the same. It’s almost like people just do it to be seen. But I guess that’s the difference between folks who want attention and the ones that don’t.

I don't think that the kardashians are even to blame only like you said the lack of self esteem, greed, long throat that is the problem. At the end of the day it is average people that glorifies this celebrities and social media has made it look easy and accessible. As a mom , am even scared to take my child to school cause the things I have witnessed childreen who aren't even teenagers do is disturbing and the parents are okay with. It is just a bad cycle, unprepared traumatized parents are having child they aren't ready for and that will create a bad cycle

To me it was aging in reverse. In my early 20s I had curves, tried so hard to be a “baddie” and people assumed I was older than I really was. Today I leaned out because I switched from gym to competitive long distance running, I lost several cup sizes, I have no hips, I stopped the heavy makeup. I also stopped trying to be something I’m not and I wear comfortable stuff when I’m not in my running clothes. Ever since I stopped caring about other people’s perception of me and focused on being the healthiest version of myself I feel great. Now people usually assume I’m younger than I actually am lol

I found myself looking older than my age because I wanted to look like a “baddie “ what made it worse was the fact that I’m a chubby girl so dressing as such made me look mad old . I’ve taken a step back now after realizing that i actually don’t even want to look like that however I’m still struggling to find clothing that looks my age( im 21 by the way) but still look decent 🙂

Im 16 and i have a very coquette based style. I wear bright colors, pinks, and skirts. And if im not wearing something colorful my make up is just concealer where i need it and very watered down douyin make up (to avoid accidental Asian-fishing) Im also black. I cannot express how many people are genuinely shocked when they realize i have no interest in smoking, looking 20+, drinking, having sex willynilly. Ive been called "innocent" more than i can count all because how i dress. And its not that much of how i act. I make sex jokes and such, i am a teenager after all. But its how i carry myself. I don't wear full face bc 1. I always seen when a girl doesnt wear it one day its "you look tired today" 2. Ik sm girls who are insecure how they look without a full face 3. And i just dont feel like learning all of that Ive been called white-washed for not knowing how to twerk (i was a 14 yr old freshman) I don't listen to rap (all the popular songs talk about fighting women, cheating or just being with ppl for money, and sex For not wanting to actually go to class bc i enjoy learning. Then theyre even MORE surprised that ppl are attracted to me despite that i dong dress grown. Its not that i feel uncomfortable with my body. Its that ik how others see me, will make assumptions. Ive had grown men staring at me and im just wearing pants, and a pink shirt with lace peeking out my neckline. Ive been learned how scary the world is from the stories ive heard and what ive seen. Ive gotten asked out so much and still guys have wanted to hook up only. So i figured, why dress in a way that will invite people i dont want when theyll come anyway? Id rather dress a way that will slim down the chance Thanks for coming to my tedtalk (rant) ☠️
