E1S1 Ruan Mei for me and its the bare minimum

Tbh I'm kinda scared for sparkle they nerfed a big part of her now I feel like she isn't worth it 😭😔😭

IDK, it feels like ALL videos of Ruan Mei that pops into my TL are talking about how great she is Chapter 1.. 2.. 3.. 4.. 5... Like they're all the same videos, sometimes multiple videos by the same creators. Then, I was wondering where they are getting these community reactions/comments (discord maybe) that Sparkle/Bronya is better or skip her. Content creators have the same or almost the same content... Example About 10 videos are about 'Ruan Mei is Broken' Then tomorrow, 10 videos about 'Is Ruan Mei better than Bronya?' 10 videos about 'Pre-release guide' And for Ruan Mei, there's like twice the number of videos ever since HSR dropped her drip.... Sometimes, I base it on the quantity of videos saying the same thing over and over to prove that a character is good/I'll pull for them. In this special case, for Ruan Mei only, the contents are too many and it feels like it's too much already. Everyday there is a 'new' video again about hyping her... I am growing tired of the endless discussions about her.. i might change my mind.

@@kpop_mellow Ruan Mei being the first limited Harmony unit definitely plays into the overhyping. My advice is to not let the community's hyping up Ruan Mei ruin your impression of her especially since she's coming very soon. Best to keep a neutral outlook and wait for Ruan Mei's actual release, play her trial quest and if anyone on your friends list already have her take her out for a spin. After that if you like what she does or even her character in the upcoming events with her release, roll for her. And if not then save your jades.

Her beta kit will be revealed in a few days, most likely January 4 or earlier cause that is closing date for 2.0 beta access

I get what reasonable people like you are saying and while there really isn't a must pull she is pretty much the unit you really should pull. If you don't your account isn't bad, but man... It would be so much stronger and more enjoyable. She's the only unit I've seen where I would say must pull, but there is always reruns. I just think if you skip now you might regret it. Don't want ppl to go into debt, but at the end of the day ppl need to be responsible for themselves. Can't blame CC for talking honestly about their opinions on the game.

@@xenoemblem7 1000%! It's easy to say "they will come back" and do you know how many ppl said that about Blade and now look at him? He's still a great unit, nothing has changed, he's arguably gotten better, especially once Ruan Mei drops. But there's a problem.... HE'S ON RUAN MEI'S BANNER! Lol. So, unless you saved a TON it's probably another skip on Blade for those that wanted him. For me I really want Fu Xuan on ideally both my accounts, but she's most likely dropping in 2.1... with Acheron so I gotta save if I want both. It's definitely not as easy when they keep dropping banger unit after banger unit.

People downplayed HuoHuo because they had Luocha and Fu Xuan.

Yesss a lot of people downplayed and doomposted Huohuo pre-release and then post-release she skyrocketed her way to S tier.

People downplayed Fu Xuan. She completely changed how you play the game. She reliably and consistently makes your squishiest units unkillable.

It's usually the Bailu and Luocha mains who have beef with Huohuo. Gepard and Fu Xuan mains are just sipping tea and drinking beer at the sides.

i have one rule that is aboslute for me and that is to summon for 1 broken healer that wont lose his vaule anytime soon so i can save as much jades and that just happend to be loucha so now im saving for the next healer that can do what loucha does plus more didnt summon for hou hou and fu xuan and dont play too have them.

ruan mei could be a sustainer on her own. so a dual dps and dual support team could definitely work depending on the damage and break consistency by your characters

Additionally, yes the term “must pull” can also be seen as problematic. I don’t believe a character is a must pull unless you genuinely want them , then they can be considered a “must pull” to that individual based on their own interests

There's a ton of KZfaqrs who do exactly this, for sure, because it gives good analytics. People love watching hype videos on new characters! Hyping new DPS is usually bait, because there will always be a newer and stronger DPS in time, you're never going to "Brick your account" by not pulling for a DPS character. HOWEVER, and this is a BIG however, there WILL be units that enable specific compositions, and open up new powerful team building options that would otherwise be absolute garbage. Ruan Mei, Kafka, Silver Wolf, and Topaz are three such units: if you want to play a Followup attack team, Topaz is going to be huge, because her buff is damage TAKEN, not a damage buff, scaling multiplicatively with the entirety of a followup attack's damage, and she is incredibly skill point positive to enable skill spamming. Kafka enables DoT teams, and until another unit comes out that can Detonate DoTs, she's going to be a mainstay on any DoT based team: she's effectively irreplaceable. Silver Wolf allows players who want to force content with their favorite characters to still break and efficiently kill enemies that they'd otherwise be walled against. Finally, Ruan Mei is the only character in the game so far that can fully support a multiple DPS at once, and enables a Break Effect based comp: without Ruan Mei, Dual DPS compositions are pretty subpar, casual at best and will likely not make it into clearing Floor 11 and 12 at full stars without Ruan Mei. There aren't any "Must Pull" units in general, you can play the game without whoever you want, and with enough investment and the right scenario, any character can shine. Many characters just take MUCH, MUCH less investment to shine, and do so in far more scenarios, and a select few strategies WILL be effectively impossible without specific characters.

Just because I can 0 cycle with a 50/200% 136 speed Jingliu, 200% 134 speed Bronya, 174 Speed Pela, and 146 speed Luocha doesn't mean that's the norm for most players, and you shouldn't either. Your definition of "Well Built" is many player's definition of Whale Build, where they'd assume you were doing TB Power refreshes and such. Some people just get shafted on relics, Lightcones, 50/50s, pity, all of it. sparkle is gonna be a predominant mono quantum team played and she’ll be an sp generator like hanya. so QQ and Seele are gonna shine better, but Mei and Broyna have an overall boost to any team. i already have every quantum character + every harmony, so i’ll be pulling for both.

this imo is the best approach when comes to pulling for a character, believe me, i skip luocha, fuxuan, huo huo even though all people says that it will make my account a lot better, but im doing just fine with natasha and lynx as my sustain character, im skipping SW eventhough all people says that she's a must pull because im fine with my pela. skipping an OP character and go for your favorite character doesnt automatically brick your account, nor it makes you cant clear any end game content.

Bronya better for solo carry teams if you speedtune perfectly while ruan mei is really good for both, but if the enemies does some insane damage the break efficiency is really strong not taking damage is really good for the average player so i would not skip.

Idk what you're talking about. The changes she got, and she got A LOT from her original leaked kit, buffed her massively. I went from seeing her original beta stuff and thinking "eh, it's good but not a must have" to "Holy shit she's broken!" Kits and strength definitely vary greatly from original leak to release.

@@serikazero128 I would argue the all type pen and the flat, up to, 36% damage is a massive buff. She functions very similarly with how she plays, but those changes she got are not small. She went from great unit to OP/God tier.

Its more like 36% over 24% Ruan Mei was a generalist buffer for the entire team that facilitates breaking enemies and keeping them weakness broke. This did not change. How well she does her job has indeed changed. And as far as I've seen in Genshin and Star Rail this is pretty accurate for like 90-99% of the things they release. The leaks are not how the character will end up, it shows a general view of the character. And that's some good information, it helps in making decisions on who to wish for.

@@serikazero128 fair enough. I just wouldn't decide to pull or not pull based off original leaks. I would wait until the final version in the dreams is done. And then be sure. I think Jing Yuan ran into a problem where he was considered great and then hit was some last minute nerfs. Not that he's bad, but he could've been even stronger.

Same here though I'm gonna do a few multis to see if I could get her early. I personally don't feel the need to get stronger since I could auto even MoC 10 and don't think adding two more stages to it would be that challenging. I just want the teams I play to be even more fun. I already have Fu Xuan and SW so Sparkles look good to me just because of her element. I'm personally hoping for a limited physical harmony that could make Argenti nuke harder, that character would be my personal must pull.

First team would benefit more from replacing lynx with pela/other support since with JL and ruan mei together you no longer need sustain if you break enough.

Everyone's account is different and wants different things. I can tell them tho: if you skip you WILL regret it.

Not to a point of spending money you don't have, but if you care about meta and/or just having an easier time clearing content this is a unit you will want to have period. If a person can't control their spending that's on them, not the CC's. Gacha games in general are predatory, so if you can't control yourself then you shouldn't be playing.

Ruan Mei is the most general support there is, as of current patch she is the best option in 99% of teams, you can skip her just don't fool yourself into thinking she is some niche support, she is the oposite.

You can play the game constantly chasing meta and looking for power ups or you can go for a character because they look cool. When I saw ratio in leaks I was fully determined to get him, it’s not always about power.

I did it for Jingliu... Best decision I have ever done. 😂

Leaks are mainly for F2P. They have to plan what they want well in advance or they won't have the jades ready to pull for the units they want. That's why having an informed decision is very important.

tbh message is fine still (referring to the aging well of the video) both will likely be incredibly good, and at the end of the day whichever one fits you better or whichever you like more will be the best option for you. It comes down to what you're looking for, and also looking at all of them as their own character due to big differences between them. (basically not to undervalue one because of the other is all :))
