The Producers were awesome. It's a shame they never had greater exposure. They could have been big. This song is a testament to their talent.

A song that makes my heart flutter to this day. In 7th grade in 1982 I heard this for the first time at the age of 12. on a radio station in Knoxville called WIMZ. The keyboard sounds on the intro made me imagine the glisten of the early morning sunrays on the hair of a girl on the school bus who I was attracted to. When the song kicks in with the drums it felt like the pitter pat of my junior high heart when I'd see the the girl on my way to school every morning. The chord changes and the vocal style felt like how my little junior high heart would pitter-pat when I'd see her intogicating prettiness in the morning sun on our way to school. Things like this made it so magical to be a growing, music-loving boy so infatuated with a girl's pretty face and hair in the 80s. The magic of music. Sound, vision, and emotion. Instead of Michael Jackson's "Thriller", this is the thing that made my heart skip a beat and rocked my world in junior high. A relatively unknown, obscure band from Georgia. The energy takes my breath away to this day.

I saw them while I was in college at Ohio University. Will never forget it. They were awesome and yrs I always loved this song! They were great. I found the cd many years later and purchased it

@@mokanlines I read somewhere that he developed back problems. 🙁 I think it's an Oberheim synth, but I'm not sure which model.

It really is distinctive. Most of it is just how well it's played - a couple different harmonious lines played in a tight staccato way. I think Antony is right that it was an Oberheim synth, which probably had multiple "voices" for each sound that could be spread around the stereo field, so in the beginning where it sounds like multiples of one sound kind of spread out between your ears, that's the effect it has.

Synthesizer was an Oberheim OB-X, and they went for around $4,600 - $6,000 back in 1980. In 2024 dollars, that's over $20,000!

Saw them in Austin outdoors back in 82/83 . . Opened for Flock of Seagulls and Squeeze. Fond memories from over half a lifetime ago.

@@billbreed , it was in Zilker park down by the river in downtown Austin. . . It was sponsored by radio station KLBJ . . A Day in the Park. Walked down by the river to smoke a joint and came across the F. of Seagulls bass player with 2 girls in tow. I kept moving bcz I didn’t want to interrupt their fun.
