You have to get the M18 dual rapid charger. My all-time favorite is the super charger. It’s designed to charge High output batteries, it will charge a 12ah in an hour. I have two hanging on the wall in my garage and it’s one of the best purchases I’ve ever made. For me I live by the 3.0 HO. I have a few pair of 6/8 and a 12 that I care to admit that I keep around depending on the job. But I love the light weight of the 3.0 HO

Awesome video, I will definitely be looking up, on the shelves for those box deals, or asking the TTI rep where they are. As for the basic charger, there is a reason they include those with the CP, XC etc. basic batteries. They charge those batteries better for longevity. The HO and large capacity batteries are designed to couple/charge with the rapid chargers. Will the rapid chargers charge the CP, XC batteries? Absolutely, but not really at a majorly faster pace than a regular charger will. This information was passed on to me from one of the Milwaukee Battery Engineers. In fact, there is a great video with a huge amount of info on it about the batteries and chargers. I'll try to find it and link it of you'd like. His end statement was, "Charge the batteries with the charger it came with, and your batteries will last a long time."

I’m about 1/2 a junkie, lol. I’m mostly disciplined when it comes to the buy one get one free’s (usually grabbing the tool)… but then I get to thinking… it might be awhile before a price that good on batteries pops up, lol. As long as we aren’t buying em full price, we can skip rehab… for now 😬

The real bummer is that it only makes sense to buy at Home Depot when there's deals like you showed. Like you said, the m12 6.0 is $120 at home Depot, they can be found on Amazon regularly as cheap as $64. Those are for genuine batteries but the catch is that you lose warranty with Amazon because they aren't a licensed dealer. Personally I think if you take care of your batteries, they will easily outlast the Milwaukee warranty so I'm willing to take the risk for such a hefty discount. I'm definitely gonna be looking for these deals now though! Thank you and best wishes

I just recently picked up my first set of tools as i started as a carpenters apprentice and mannnn i wish i woulda seent this video before i bought my batteries! paid 170 for two ho 3.0s and now not even a week later they on sale for 130 and even at that i feel robbed after seein this video lmao. Excellent Video! YES, NEVER BUY One battery! Buy them like you have illustrated here, or during the Holiday Season, when they have their “Special Buys’ section. Appreciate your enthusiasm, and hesitating to open up some of those nice new packages, but PLEASE be forewarned: CHARGE those batteries right away! They ship with a low charge, and if they sit too long, will discharge down to where the charger will not recognize them. I had this happen. Bought an older set on clearance, and they wouldn’t charge. Found a NIB two pack when I was going through my stuff, and they wouldn’t charge. Just an F.Y.I. Peace! 👍👍👍👊😊

Agree 100%. I'm into Makita, M12 and M18 and there is always a better deal than buying a single battery, most of the time. Like you said, you can buy the tool/battery combo. What I do is buy that then sell the tool at a good deal and it's a win/win. There was a good deal on the M12 6Ah batteries last year but usually you gotta look for the deals with combo packs.

Great Video! I never knew how much I was overpaying for batteries until your video. We have only one Home Depot in this entire region and they never reduce any tools or batteries. They usually sell out before the sale even comes. I have never seen any of those kits in my region. Even this last Xmas, they had no battery kits. Had to buy several drill kits just for batteries. The one issue I did notice is that if you buy some extra new batteries and don't open and charge them soon, they will die and the charger won't charge them.

Your advice - is correct! There is always stuff in the overhead bays - got a propress deal that way just because the store was not going to carry it in stock.

I always develop a relationship with my Milwaukee rep in the store. they keep me up to date on sales and deals that are coming up! I've saved a bunch of money by doing this! don't deal with the store employees.

I got 3 of those 6.0 kits from the Waldorf md home depot, they had 12 of them there, the Milwaukee (tti) rep was there and he helped me get them down off the top shelf.... he was like dam this is a good deal.... next day I went back to get a couple more and they were all gone lol... dude snapped them up

I got a m12 impact driver, a m12 hammer drill, a 2 amp battery, a 4 amp battery and the m12 3/8 stubby impact gun for around $250 around September 2021. I also got 2 6.0 amp 12 volt battery’s for $100 during this past holiday.

I’m new to your channel and just signed up. Ha! You shop for Milwaukee stuff at HD like I do. Those were some killer deals you got on the batteries. Have you ever gone over the hack on your channel, e.g. taking back either the battery or tool that’s free? I have a lot of batteries, so I usually return the batteries and keep the tool. However, in late 2021 when they were running the 2 M12 6.0 batteries and Charger, plus free tool. I ended up keeping the batteries and the free tool, because you can never have too many M12 6.0 batteries. I purchased 2 of the promos, along with the M12 Fuel 5 3/8” Circular Saw and a new Rocket Light. Had I taken back the batteries I would’ve ended up paying around $100 for each tool. But hey, like you said…you can never have too many tools!

Joe the tool guy says, if you can get your battery for $10/ah you know you're getting a great deal. I've gotten some batteries deals for this price, but it's only when finding those sweet deals. Otherwise, I agree with you 100%, only purchase batteries when you find them on sale or during a BOGO promotion. Usually the around Thanksgiving, after Christmas, and around Father's Day. That's when the best sales and deals usually occur.

Good tips on getting deals. I have a different strategy with my chargers. I use the standard charger at home if there's no rush and the rapid charger at work, where I want to recharge asap. I figure slower charging is probably easier on the batteries, but at work, time is money.

Sucks there's no Home Depo in Australia. $160 for a 6.0 and 8.0 HO is ridiculously good. Keep up the good work my guy

I know you trashed the M12 charger and I would agree with you on that like 90% of the time, but the one use I have found for it is charging tools with the outlet in my truck. The combo chargers have too high of draw and don't work, but the M12 only charger does. It's random and doesn't happen much (pretty sure the new F150's have a higher amperage so probably isn't even an issue if you have a 2021 or newer), but it is nice for those times!

I'm an M12 man myself. Only reason I would need to get iinto m18 would be for a circular saw. The M12 circ saw is good for little cuts here and there but leaves a lot to be desired.

When he say you had to check the overhead bays, I realized it’s dud is talking my language! That’s exactly what I do when I go to the store, my head is always pointed towards the sky and people are asking me if I need help I tell them no. The other alternative is to talk to the Milwaukee rep if you see them in the store, because they’re constantly trying to clear out the old inventory and they know it was in the overheads. I got two of the kits that had 8.0 & 6.0 with the rapid charger, only bad thing is one of the kits had counterfeit batteries in it(Fake Milwaukee batteries and a real Milwaukee none rapid charger)! Yes at my local Home Depot I have got in counterfeit batteries one time and a GEN-1 18 gauge nailer in a GEN-2 box. So if you plan to keep the tool for personal use (I purchased them just to sell them because that’s how I get cash back on my Home Depot card, so they sat around for a couple of weeks) open the box immediately at the store to check and see if everything is good inside.

Well in canada, HD has the m18 3.0 high output for $98ea but if you by the package pair….$268 🤣 you literally just have to watch every site. Everyday every hour 🤷‍♂️

That's definitely the best way buy the 2 batteries (6hp8hp) for $300 and get a free tool.. they have that sale at least 3 times a year..

PS apparently the slower chargers are better on the batteries! So if you just used to slow charges on the batteries, your batteries will last longer. So when you’re using the surge M12, the batteries gonna take a couple of days to run out so you could use the slow charger with no problem.

I 100% agree, there are always specials at the store not visible online. I even got me the chainsaw, I don’t need it. I wanted it 😎

Not trying to come off as Negative, but there is a reason they clearance batteries...its because they go bad if they stay in the package too long uncharged. Unbox them all and charge them up or resale them asap.
