As a watch repair enthusiast I’ve seen prices on Swiss vintage watch tools (especially discontinued tools) go through the roof in resent years. I think that says a lot. Thanks for the interesting lecture!

Fix the sound... also shouldn’t all the issues be sorted before the video recording?

While I am interested in the topic, all the most basic information, the glitches and the bad sound seem like Hyla Ames Bauer should not have been invited by the Horological Society of New York. Get people who know more about the stuff than we do and who come prepared.

This lady might know her stuff, but she shouldn’t be allowed to present.

Seiko lit a fire under the asses of the Swiss. And in reality, Seiko is still doing it. Grand Seiko crushes Rolex, Omega etc.

Some interesting historical detail but a truly terrible presentation.

Gee...speak into the microphone..., and adjust the sound levels between your speech and your videos. We are either cannot hear anything or getting deaf

Bro I've seen multi-million dollar company video presentation recordings, and most of them have fucked up audio as well. It's par for the course.

I’m not the kind of person to often jump into the comment section to complain, especially for free content. That said, I have to share my disappointment about this lecture. Nothing is up to the HSNY standards, nothing unfortunately. Technical issues are a thing, ok, we can take it up to a certain level but here the level was certainly achieved. No disrespect for the woman who made the presentation, I’m sure she is knowledgeable and I assume she was nervous about the lecture, probably her first time doing such a thing. Unfortunately I agree with other (less polite) commenters about the lecture itself, I had a real hard time following it. If one wanted to learn anything about the quartz crisis, he’d better read Wikipedia. Warm regards,

A bad production and a blot on the horological society for putting out such poorly-recorded content.
