I can imagine it was a whole new experience in the search for your friend and for you too to have someone to search with. Does make things more difficult when it seems that facts start changing. Indeed, if I was lost, it would be great to know that someone was out looking for me. I hope your friend spoiled them beautiful dogs! lol Looks like a cozy little shelter. Yes Bruce, some of the facts given have been confusing, I don't know the reason why, could be a number of reasons or just simply Chinese whispers. It was great having another human for a change, especially someone that has no agenda and has a good heart, made a good few days, dogs even got on well with him, very strange when he left. Will not give up, I hate being beaten. Atb Bill and the crazy trio.

Well done for continuing the search, I remember the story but didn't know he hadn't been found. Im sure the family and friends will appreciate your efforts. Plan to visit the area soon as I live in Argyll. Take care Sir 👍

Hi, Could you at some time show a map of the area which was searched at the time of Neil going missing, and the approximate areas you have done since? I was following them using an OS map and Google Earth but it would be useful for those of s who might be able to get up there in the next few months. I appreciate the nature of the terrain, nothing is easy.

I will give it a go but I don't know how it will look on video. There is a Hike for Neil group on Facebook that might have a map showing the official areas searched then I can give details of the zones I have covered which make it really clear. The most important areas I believe are the northern areas from the Loch. Anywhere from a line at the ruins at Luib Lauchrach to the east at Meall an Ariach, and to the west upto Sron nah Lolaire, then all the slopes north wards from that line. Mountain Rescue have not covered these areas at all. You will need experience if going on these slopes because it's rough terrain, plenty of holes, boggy and sketchy in some areas, then there is the unpredictable weather to take into account. Well done for continuing the search. I remember the reports about Neil's disppearance in 2022, but am not familiar with the details. I assume that as his phone and wallet were found in his tent, he did get back to the tent after deciding to turn back on the hike with his friends? I take it they were camping on the south side of Loch Dochard, or somewhere nearby?

The details regarding Neil's dissappearanve have changed over the past 21 months. First he was left at the Loch by his friends, then later it changed to he turned back and they left Neil. I believe, knowing the area, Neil felt safe and left his valuables in the tent because he knew they would be safe. Now knowing the facts that the weather was fine until Neil disappeared, I believe Neil went for an early morning stroll, something he was known to do. I think he got carried away due to it being a lovely sunny morning, and got further and further away from the tent. After searching all the areas except the slopes to the north of Loch Dochard, I think there is a strong possibility that's where he will be found. Bill.
