Throat singing. Try it. Your actual speaking voice will become clearer which in turn helps your actual singing.

Often this happens when singers want to "project" or sound chesty, but in reality they are actually adding too much unnecessary tension or strain. This is why it is important to "speak sing" at your comfortable range first before taking it to higher notes.

sometimes it is *LITERALLY NECESSARY TO MATCH THE SINGER'S FREQUENCY*! My natural voice is not deep, so when I sing Sam smith, I WANT TO LITERALLY SOUND JUST LIKE HIM, so I use this technique to sound like him. IT FUCKING WORKS AND IS SAFE. so STOP FUCKING DISCOURAGING PPL FROM USING CHEST VOICE!

Is it also possible for vocal chords to not be tight enough? When i sing i hear and feel this rasp in my voice. It doesn’t sound seductive, and almost feels like my vocal chords are a loose elastic rubber band. Maybe it’s because I’m new to singing, or because I’m not warmed up enough..
@DeathtotheAshes
@DeathtotheAshes 2 жыл бұрын
If the chords don’t seal enough, you’ll leak air and feel breathy and weak and unstable. Trying practicing “uh-ohs” and “I eat an apple every hour”. Saying each word separately so you can feel your chords “sealing/compression/adducting”. That helps me when I start getting too unstable and feel raspy/thin.
@ikarosdream5971

It might help you to look into exactly what the vocal chords actually look like and how they function. It really changed a lot for me and helped me understand what I'm doing. It also helped me recognize dangerous vs non dangerous stuff. A quick example would be that the vocal chords are actually more like flaps rather than guitar strings. Seeing it that way might help you identify what and why certain sounds are happening.

How do I not strain when I want to go into the lower or higher notes? Like when I stay at a speaking range it’s easy not to strain but when going deeper/higher, that’s when I strain (am either a tenor or an alto, haven’t seen a teacher so idk for sure) Edit: Saw a vocal teacher and turns out I’m a super duper high soprano and just never knew lmfaooo
