Back in 1983, I was in the Air National Guard and got deployed to Panama. I bought some beautiful Molas right from the Indians. One was an absolutely beautiful bag with mola design. They were all pictures of animals in the region. I am still fascinated by the layers and fine stitching. It’s sad that it is becoming a lost art.

I love the molas you bought at the auction. I have a couple i bought about 25 years ago during a quilt shop hop. They are all just gorgeous. Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello, I found an old Sears frame at my local thrift shop. Never used as I found out when I bought hardware and put it together. It even has the extension kit for large quilts. Would love to ship to a loving home.

If you ever go to Panama City, Panama you can visit the Museum of the Mola that has free admission. Amazing collection of indigenous needlework. In the old city are street vendors selling molas.

Wow, what an educational book covering 200 yrs of fabric history. At first i noticed the stripes in the quilt mixed with patterned fabric and thought, how interesting adding a textural element. But i had no idea the quilt could be traced back so far. Its in fabulous condition, isnt it? Love the quilting you are doing on the long arm. ❤
