All the quilts are beautiful and yes she did a great job with baby quilt. It's therapeutic to hear someone admit (like me) they have 20 yr old ongoing projects. I so agree they are always worth finishing. Appreciate this!

I have a crossstitch project - The Last Supper - Jesus has been alone at the table for about 25 years. Thankfully he has food and drink but none of the disciples are there. I NEED to finish that one too!

That is the best advice you can tell people. My mother always use to throw things I made away. I too, have thrown things away or given them to charities. I once knitted my girls' care bear jumpers . One had a milkshake, and my daughter laughed when reminded that the straw in the milkshake was going up the bears nose.😊 I have a friend and I went to her house, she got a box out that had treasured items from many of her families past. Her great great grandmother had started the box. It was such a brilliant box with crochet, knitted, embroidery silk flowers, a basket weave posy for a wedding. All sorts. It was so special.

Love the box idea! My mom use to put my stuff I made in her closet. I never understood that.

A great topic. I need to remember, finish the project, it doesn't have to be perfect. We are our worst critics.

My grandma made me a sun bonnet sue doll blanket when I was little and I’m almost 57 and still have it. Back then we called it Holly hobby. I’d like to find it and make one. ❤️
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
Yes. I had a Holly Hobbie one too. Holly Hobbie is a little different from sun bonnet sue but they are very similar. Both are super cute!

I agree with saving quilts. I have an antique quilt that isn’t perfect that I bought on EBay years ago. It made me so sad to see it for sale so cheap. Someone worked hard on it! It is now hanging prominently in the stairway landing in my office building. I smile every time I walk by it. I don’t know who made it, but I’m honoring her and her work.

Strange to did this subject because I recently found my first quilt I have attempted myself, of course it is unfinished! But I chuckle at how bad it is! But I am going to finish it! The top is finished and I will quilt it! The colors are gorgeous! But I had to look very close for seams that had not been sewn correctly and some was not sewn! But all has been fixed ! Maybe not the way I should have or would on a new quilt but it is fixed!!!! And I will quilt this soon!!

That is awesome! Glad you’re going to finish it!!

I need some advice or suggestion. A dear from mine passed away this past March, I was able to rescue some of her quilts. 3 of them have a few good blocks but have more that are in horrible condition beyond repair. I've thought about cutting out the good blocks and make a very scrappy quilt. Do you have any other idea that I could do? I'll be coming to your store when I come to Alabama to visit a friend that has moved there. Thank you

You could replace those blocks with scrappy blocks or embroider them with your friends name and info like a label. Depending on how many need to be replaced.
