I got a layer cake and made pinwheels that were 12 1/2 square. They were 10 inch squares.

Thank you for this video, your method explaining a block is so clear, I have only recently found you so i take it this is a block of the month, does this make a complete quilt then finished or is this teaching us how to certain blocks? If it makes a quilt at the end how would I go back to see past videos? Thanks much! ♥
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
It makes a quilt when finished. They are all the first Saturday of the month videos with the titles starting “The Quilting Corner”

Thank you! And yes! I love making pinwheels. I usually make smaller ones but they’re all pretty!

To determine the size of your squares for any size half square triangle take the size of your FINISHED half square triangle. Lets say its 3"x3". Multiply 3 x 2 =6 now add 2 = 8. Your squares should be cut at 8" x 8". You'll get 8 half square triangles.

When I did the sew all around and cut I lost my points! I obviously did something wrong.
@sewcharmingquiltshopАй бұрын
Did you use a 1/4 inch seam allowance. Even a scant one!

@@sewcharmingquiltshop I did - I just could not get it to come out right. I will try this method when I get back home. I have also discovered some new rulers I want to try - BlockLoc - that supposedly make half square come out better.
