my friend's husband died after working for a local company for years. When she filed for his life insurance thru the company she was told that they did not have a record of him every having life insurance and she had not kept any of her receipts- so she was out but later she was cleaning in her attic when a book fell from her hands and out came a receipt from where his life insurance premium had been paid. She turned it in and got his life insurance.

That women that has so many good points on life insurance should absolutely help people with it. I sell life myself and she has so many wonderful points to help people really understand what life insurance is for…great segment

I'm part of the 90% of people that paid their house off before the 30 year without autopilot, or refinancing, I just decided to do it and convinced my husband and we did it in 6 years. It was hard but you have to have the intention to do that or it won't happen.

that's absolutely great! Did you multiply the amount of the money you paid every month times 12 and then by 30 to see how much money you saved by paying it off early? Good for you!

Oddly enough, I emailed Dave’s team about this exact question around switching from the 30 to the 15 given the higher interest rates. His team replied telling me to refinance which I thought was bad advice. So, I followed my instincts and just aggressively started paying off the mortgage. We will turn a 30 year mortgage into a five year by staying the course.

The 2nd spouse issue has been an occurrence in my family. They had a "my kids & your kids" marriage. He died, the wife changed the will to exclude all but one child. That child died so all the physical possessions went to his kids but the money went to the beneficiary on the account. Thankfully, the monetary beneficiary is a moral, godly person and evenly distributed the funds throughout the family. Update your legal business and TALK with the family about who is getting what or not.

Faith comes by hearing. Thanks for the reminders. Were on Baby step 2 and were not 100 on the same page. My hubby just got another CD without telling g me and keeps saying we can charge it and pay it off in three months rather than waiting. I'm trying to keep my head up and gain endurance. Appreciate the encouraging wisdom. God bless.

At least fill out a health directive .assign someone to have a "pay upon death" your bank accounts. In Minnesota of the 300+ people who died this year, 84 were under 30yrs old..insurance is important.

My son died in 2012. He had married six months earlier. His military cash benefits went to his mother, rather than his wife because they had not changed the beneficiary to his wife.

Many people forget about changing beneficiaries. One of my friends was with a divorced man for six years and when he passed his ex-wife got everything. They never even thought about it because he died young.

Or just pay extra principal. No need to pay a whole extra payment of principal, escrow, interest, etc. Interest is calculated based on your principal, so pay that amount extra where possible. Your interest costs are reduced over the life of your mortgage.

Alot of banks you can pay your mortgage online and specify what extra amount you want paid for principal only. Also if you pay your mortgage with a coupon book you need to specify the extra payment amount as interest only. Note: I have a friend that did this but the bank still applied it to their normal payment amount. It was a pain for them to fix with the bank but important you verify each month they posted it properly.
