Watched Shead for 4 years at UH. His defense has just gotten better as well as his leadership skills. If you watched the NCAA tourney UH fell apart when Shead went out with an injury because they didn't have the leader on the floor any longer. He will be a plus to the locker room and a hard worker. Shead is great downhill and will get others involved. He has a good floater game and can be a streaky 3 point shooter. I would love to see Mitchell and Shead going at it during practice because that is two very evenly matched guys that will make each other better. I hope you enjoy him in Toronto, we loved him in Houston.

I know people and gms put too much flak on those that stay for the degree. Like that means they lack skill when its not true. I prefer the pkayers that stay cause it shows their determination for the personal and team goals. And you develop your skills into adulthood anyways. Look at every young star in the nba. Shai. Ball. Ja. Tatum. Luka. They were good year o e. But they all needed years 4 5 and 6 better they were stars anyways. So what does it matter. It doesnt. But scouts and gms make believe it does. Shead is awesome. Hes been awesome and only gotten better for a cougar team that has been dangerous the past several years. Issue with Flynn and as many other ball players such as gtj etc. They're over confident on their talent, and when given the chance to play you realise these guys have no IQ on the fact that it's a team game and not individual attributes.

Shead is a steal. Rumours are his agent told teams if they didn’t plan on guaranteeing him not to draft him in the second round so he dropped to 45. He’s a vocal leader and A DAWG on defence! Our point of attack defence, which was terrible at the end of the year, just got a huge shot in the arm with the additions of Shead and Mitchell! Trust in Masai!

I was hoping for Shead or Mogbo at 31 and was thrilled with how it turned out. Shead's game reminds me so much of Kyle Lowry and I think he could legit compete with Davion Mitchell for the established backup PG spot by the end of next season.

Everybody thought we got that 45ft pick to draft Bronny but It wasn’t for Bronny because this Shead said Masai called his agent even before the 2nd round started and told his agent they’re getting the 45th pick to draft him. Every player we drafted in the the 2nd round or the guy Brandan Carlson who we signed to a 2 way deal all players we worked out and liked. This is why Masai picked up so many of them them which is unusual for us. The Carlson guy on ESPN Utah and said he worked in Toronto for Darko and the coaching staff and knew he killed the workout because he said he got great feedback from the raptors staff and Raptors really liked his game. He said looked his ability to space the floor. He also said he loved Toronto and got see the facilities and he’s flying back to Toronto on June 31 to practice with the team for Summer league. He said the Raptors called him before the 2nd round was even over and told we’re giving you a 2 way contract right away. This might be one of the most interesting summer league squads because most of the players will be our picks and 2 way guys.

Do you remember when Lowry and FVV won a title?
@HKashaf
@HKashaf 10 күн бұрын
@@FlesterVids do you remember which player was actually the reason for that tittle run because Lowry didn’t get us passed the second round against sixers and most of us remember his contributions in playoffs prior to 2019! He was the 4th best player behind Kwahi, Siakam and Gasol which is not bad but no means he was the reason for deep run in the playoffs and tittle. It is okay to have short players on your roster but you have to remember you will keep running in to Taytum and Brown for the foreseeable future. You are literally disadvantaged on both sides of the floor if your match up is 8” taller than you! This only makes sense you want to add talent for the time being but this isn’t building for future, more like repeating the mistakes of the past or worse, redeploying the formula from 2018-2019!

@@rulz2663 Raptors won because of Gasol, Siakam and Kwahi. Not because of FVV and Lowry. FVV couldn’t make a bucket until we got to conf finals. The toughest series that run was in second round and Lowry was average and FVV’s contribution was less than negligible because between Embid, Butler, Simmons,Harris only starter that was regular height was Reddick. My point is that they both struggled immensely and Kwahi averaging 35ppg saved their bacon. They were both liabilities. Since then Celtics, Nuggets, Timberwolves all have mostly tall and athletic starters. Having taller starting guards is now the standard.

Shead definitely has upside, but he's a lot older than people might think. I do like the selection, cause he's a good defender, good rebounder, good passer and a crafty scorer(very streaky shooter) but i think that because we're still rebuilding this team, it would've been a lot better to take someone like Trey Alexander who went undrafted. Are you talking about 5'7 Markquis Nowell? I love that guy but he was underwhelming last season. Still, his work ethic still leaves him as a promising guy who can develop in the NBA G-League. As for Shead, he's 6'1, which is small, but very playable in the league. While most remaining players of his size are vets, it shows that a guy like that can contribute in the NBA, mostly offensively, but can be a good defender with good training. 6'3 Jrue Holiday often guards bigs, and while he might be an anomaly, it proves that small guys can be two way stars in the league.

@@PatrickMcCawFitnessOfficial yea I know he’s a solid defender. Similar too Raptors traded for Davion Mitchell. Great defender and is 6’1. Just don’t see this rookie panning out. He’s a late selection so maybe he develops well in the gleague. Doubt he makes the reg roster anytime soon. Mind you Jrue is listed 6’4 and tbh there’s a noticeable difference in height between the 2. I wouldn’t use that as a similar comparable. Maybe Patrick Beverly.
