This happened to wonder girls one get inlove and married and the whole group fall down and they are just starting to be on top and worldwide when this happen. So kpop agency now avoided that to happen again. The very first kpop group sensation fall down because of lovelife priorities. And because of dating the whole group can be affected. If one member left the group because for example get pregnant or married or choose they love life first than the whole group will fall. In real life you can't prioritize both career and love life!, you'll need to choose. And they know it, since they prioritize their career first because it's not an opportunity that not anyone can have, one wrong move can affect the whole members, company, the employees not only the one dating, so they are very careful. And dont compare korean to west entertainment because they are very different. You can blame the agency too, because they can set up rules because they invest big amount of money to this idols, it's their right to have rules. And these idols accepted it. And what the different to BTS is that they have discipline the reason why they successful kpop group.

I totally agree with you .In fact, fans stopped loving the music produced by the artists and start concentrating on their looks..moreover, it looks like big hit entertainment has squeezed all the talent from one group..so they now want to make business from other groups .They exposed their idols to fans so much that people actually started thinking that they are really with them..online stremings and platforms like instagram made it even worse. There are lots of fake accounts on Instagram on the members name and neither instagram as a co nor BTS as group have taken any action. Now the situation is that BTS has become their entity..they own the members and everyone wants to marry them.In this situation one member dating rumors are so dangerous for the person they want to date that these guys cannot handle.. And honestly speaking even those fans who have been with these groups for 10years, won't they feel betrayed??? Awww I remember watching Hobi's birthday live and he told his viewers that one of his goals for that year was to find someone special to him, and said something like "wouldn't that be truly amazing?". That made me emotional. I hope he found/finds his ultimate soulmate. I'd be so happy. There's also this interview where RM said he wants to be a dad. I was like awwww he'd be a wonderful dad. Coming back to your point, there are absolutely no boundaries whatsoever between a fan and an idol hence putting them on a pedestal. Also unpopular opinion but the "fanservice" as they call it is sooo problematic. It plays a significant role in making people delusional and obsessive. Majority of the people don't know where to stop crossing the line and this gives rise to such issues. The first thing that is needed in K-pop is clear boundaries between a fan and an idol. These idol girls and boys are fu***** human beings like all of us at the end of the day. That's a problem that unfortunately persists K society. I hope as they now get more exposure to outside world and more people visiting SK, they start becoming more welcoming and open. Even the whole Yoongi marry me became cringe AF after one point.

As another old 'un with nothing to lose, I agree with you and appreciate your comments which typically don't go over well with fans! From what I've heard from various sources (and of course, we have to take it with a grain of salt), only one or two members at most are entirely straight. I used to wonder why, in addition to not seeing pics of them on dates, how come I don't see pics of them even hanging out with friends or doing mundane things like driving and shopping. I was told that the K-media won't out non-hetero relationships AND that the members' personal lives are all highly protected in SK. Their major fansites, especially in SK, Hong Kong, and Japan, know who's dating who, but they also protect them. In addition, the members themselves are careful about where and when they're seen and with who. It seems that now they're being more open during this "hiatus" or whatever it is we're calling it. I long for the day that these grown men can comfortably live their lives as openly as they choose!
