Asantes are proud of their glorious history. Unfortunately some people see this as a problem of "pride". All the other ethnic groups should be proud of their glorious history. The big difference is that, Asante is not one ethnic group, but rather, several groups which have come together as one Asanteman. No ethnic group in Ghana has been able to do this and so, Asante will always be on top. The other ethnic groups did not achieve Unity at the time Asante was working on Unity. The Asante leaders had a vision and foresight. Now Asantes are enjoying the fruits of their vision and labor: their Unity.

fante, sefwi, denkyira, twifo, Assin, Akyem, Gonja, Wassa, Akuapem etc. all has been under Ashanti colonialism before until the British liberated them, you can google it and learn
