Beautiful Story. My Dad was telling Me about Ben Hur, and he thought it was a true Biblical Character. Now that I know the history, it brings joy to My ❤🙏🏾🫶🏾🗝🌍

I had the privilege of translating this novel in Persian, my mother tongue, and also made it as a radio drama for a Christian radio broadcasting in Persian, using the original soundtrack (2CD set). While translating and adjusting, I had most of the times tears in my eyes. This novel and its adaptation for movie (1959 version) shaped my character and my faith since I was only 7.

they asked "how could a God allow a war like this" because man has free moral choice and we chose to not listen to God's word and have wars instead that is why. this is not heaven. people always want to say why won't God stop this? because he does not go against our moral will and sadly our moral free will will be the downfall of so many who suppress the truth and seek to please self instead of their creator.

Something truly compelled the author to write this story, especially during the Civil War....a story of faith, love, strength, greed, power.

The 1959 version and the 1925 version are both great. Forget the 2016 version. Even Morgan Freeman couldn't defuse that box office bomb. I haven't read the novel yet, but I would like to some day.

For many, watching the movie "Ben-Hur" has become an Easter tradition. The 1959 blockbuster, starring Charlton Heston, made history with a record 11 Academy Awards. Now, the 1925 silent version is making a comeback. But what many may not know is that Hollywood didn't create this classic story. The idea came from the best-selling novel, Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, published in 1880. The book tells the story of a life-altering encounter between a first century Jewish prince and Jesus of Nazareth. LEARN MORE: mycbn.com/go/11886

I've seen the 1959 film -- three times. It impresses. Then I decided to read the book. It was incredibly amateu rishly written. Couldn't struggle through more than a hundred pages.

Benhur is the spectacular movie all time a legend ever produced in Technicolor by William Wayers in 1959, starring Charlton Heston, Jawkhakins , Hayaharareith.

Lew Wallace was a survivor veteran of Shiloh, which would task anybody's faith, and a later governor of New Mexico territory at the time of the William Bonny-Pat Garett episode. That aside, the book is so different and much more revealing than the movies; especially the end where Judah and Esther have settled in Southern Italy as Christians and have a child...to the chagrine of the deceased Messala's woman friend, Balthazar's daughter.

I dig. Same thing for me. I ended up just sort of skimming through the boring parts... kinda like my first time with Lord of the Rings. And I found out how different parts of the book where from the movie. Plus books written in the 1800s have such formal language. It was all discouraging. If your humble servant may advise you: take it on small bites. A little at a time. Sometimes listening to the audio book helps. LibriVox has free audio books for books in the public domain. Google LibriVox Ben-Hur. Scroll down to the bottom. There's a little green button that says "download". Much luck, my friend.
