The Real Story of the Jamaican Bobsled Team Depicted in 'Cool Runnings'

Devon Harris was a founding member of Jamaica's famous bobsled team fictionalized in the 1993 movie, 'Cool Runnings.' When he started, he was a member of the Jamaican military, and admitted, "We had never seen a bobsled ourselves." Harris told InsideEdition.com, "I knew that it was a winter sport. It was fast. It was dangerous, but that's the extent of my bobsled knowledge." While Harris never got an Olympic medal, he got the ride of his life. #InsideEdition

Even just qualifying for the games is an impressive feat in and of itself. Even more impressive given the amount of time they had in order to become experts at synthesizing what they knew (sprinting), with a far more obscure sport that isn't usual for their culture and geographic location. Imagine if they had put the same amount of effort in over the course of several years in preparation. Could have probably taken the gold.

Nah, not really. The had EVERYTHING necessary for a "power start" 🧐🤨. So 4 "grown men" can learn 12-20 turns 🤨🤔, they could have taken the next 20 years in the sport *shrug*

That last run that they showed in the movie was a coverage of the actual Jamaican bobsled team. If you look at the filming and timings of the video you’ll be able to tell which one is fake and which one is the true events
