You like fighting? I... don't understand? Even by modern standards the choreography for fight scenes in season 1 of this show was hard to watch. I had to stop watching for a long time after Galadriel lightly pushed 4 armed guards into a prison cell. It looked like me escorting a toddler to time out in the corner. Now it IS Galadriel, one of the strongest characters in the entire LOTR universe, she SHOULD be able to place 4 grown men into a jail cell like they are toddlers. But you gotta show why she is, you have to use the choreography to display her power. But the show runners were... idk... uninterested in fight choreography? They clearly didn't try at all and thought it wasn't important to work hard on the fight scenes. That is OK! I don't need fight scenes to enjoy a show, but if you're going to have them then do it right, please. They could have just had her use magic words to compel them into the cell and it would have conveyed her power and not looked incredibly stupid like it did.

The only thing that I am so curious is at somepoint at the finaly of this series for good (whatever season that'll be) is it gonna tie in with the Intro battle from Fellowship? When Galadrial says a last alliance of men and elves march against the armies of mordor and that 2 minute battle in the movie happens?!!!! The final episode Elendil gets killed by Sauron and Isildur defeats Sauron just like from the Fellowship Intro but stretched out instead of the span of 15 seconds

Season 1 won 15 awards and 47 nominations ❤❤❤❤ tolkien's family directly involved in the show. I commend amazon for taking on the task of making a show when your limited in the material you can use, glad that now they are given more freedom to use the source material which reflects on season 2 trailer. Watching season 1 again for several times, the show hits differently in a positive way. Iove the darker take of the show that's in line with Tolkien's depiction of darkness, something the movies didnt go heavey on. Probably for more audience. All in all happy this show exists, in love ❤❤❤

it's not very good. also, his "family" aren't people who matter at this stage. also they won basically all the most meaningless awards... and they got DUNKED by way better shows for everything they were nominated for... ALSO they were likely nominated because of the studio and money. I'm not sure if you know this but many award shows are swayed heavily by the lobbying done leading up to them so lol anyway you just need to look at audience reviews to understand that it wasn't received well and people think it's a piss poor representation of middle earth, especially when we've seen it done so masterfully already.

@@lucasbelmonte2832 mostly said by people who never picked up a tolkien book and are just mad because they saw dark elf with short hair + focus on a woman in trailer for first season and never saw one ep of RoP in the end. It doesnt butcher any material. Sillmarilion for example was never finished by tolkien himself, not to mention they dont have rights for this book and cant mention specific stuff that were only mentioned in it and nowhere else. People act like the sillmarillion, the most tedious book to go through, because it was never polished and is rough could be easily adapted 1:1. Just say you never read the material you claim "they are butchering" xD They change stuff to adapt it into interesting show. They dont disregard characters or their arcs. Galadriel is clearly meant to evolve into character from third age. The show is thousands of years before - so what are you smoking saying "they butchered her"? She isnt the same character YET. Yeah, its not the greatest show, but its nowhere near as bad as people say. Its just mostly mid, but it still has great moments. You want to see bad show that also truly butchers source material and characters? Look into Witcher S2, which threw basically 90% of the plot and character arcs into the trash for 8 episodes.

not really. Its just mid and has tedious but also quite great moments. Not nowhere as bad as people who clearly havent watched a single episode of it claim it is. Most haters online only as far as I see stopped by seeing youtube clips at most, even more dropped after trailer for first season showed them dark elf with short hair and galadriel being presented as main focus, so it tells a lot about them + its where all the hate for this show started. They are fooling no one. And suddenly so many people read books like silmarillion xD Sure. Its rarity even among fans of other tolkien books, as its not an easy read and was never a finished book, hence its rough. Most of people who claim to have read it clearly never even touch a hobbit book and are just lying movie enjoyers, repeating what others already wrote. Its really sad seeing so much hate. Reminds me of hate for x-men 97 when same type of people saw Morph is going to be trans and already hated on the show before the first ep dropped. Ofc, xmen is premium quality, and RoP is nowhere near, but again, the pattern for haters is exactly the same. Its just tougher for them to hate on x-men still, because its actually dope show. They have much easier time hating on RoP that didnt have such success.

@@Delogros Comparing Witcher show to Rings of Power is pure insanity bro. RoP is mid, but Witcher simply disregards all the plot of all the books in major ways in S2 already and S3 tried to desperately fix in 1 ep all missing vital main character connections. They butchered it hard, which even made main star leave the show. Witcher basically threw all the books into the garbage bin for whole season if you read them. RoP is based on books and time in the universe that was never finished by tolkien himself and you have to made up a lot of stuff yourself to made it adaptable to any medium. @@lucasbelmonte2832 I can. She wasnt badly written character for sure. She isnt some mary sue like many incels like to call powerful female characters, instead of pointing out flaws. She is powerful, just because she is always meant to be, yet she fails many times in the show, mainly due to being decieved by Sauron by her side. She is conflicted character. I like that she is in her rebelious phase in first season and it costs her and those around her, cause she chooses to trust wrong people and pushes her agenda too strong, making Saurons job easy in the end, which makes her choices annoying at times. Doesnt make them badly written. Quite the opposite. Its good she makes wrong, annoying choices, if they fit her character. If she made irrational, but good decisions, would that be better writing? Of course not. I can see it easily being a setup for her becoming more of a Galadriel we already know - more restricted, dangerous, yet composed, cause she already burned herself by being ruch and jumping to battle head on. Its clear she is about to learn that lesson in the show if she havent already. She started in very tough and dynamic situation in s1 and by the end learned her lesson by failing and having to overcome the evil that she allowed to snuck up on her. The setup is already obvious - she starts as rush warrior and learns that not everything can be solved by great swordsmanship - she will end up as calm, yet able to burst when pressed mystic we know from lotr movies.

Season 1 was flawed but still had a lot of good points, interesting characters & cool moments. It’s always fun to journey to Middle•Earth. The producers & show•runners had the impossible & ambitious task of fashioning a story based in the Second Age from a mix of fragments, appendices, etc. Appeasing the Tolkien purists & die-hards is an impossible task. It seems like the cool thing to do is to hop on the critical bandwagon & just trash it regardless of anything else. I enjoyed a lot of Season 1 & am holding out hope that the show•runners have corrected the course a bit & are improving on Season 1. I think that this Season 2 trailer gives us some home. It’s a bit darker, grittier & looks like a Middle•Earth that’s more lived in & believable instead of the overly refined version of Middle•Earth that they gave us in Season 1. So far in 2024 we’ve been spoiled with a lot of excellent shows & movies like Dune 2, Fallout & Shogun. In recent years we’ve seen a lot of woke & badly made shows, but 2024 has bucked that trend. Now we have some exciting titles coming up like Furiosa, House of the Dragon & Rings of Power. Hopefully these shows keep the 2024 trend of excellent story telling going. I’m reserving judgement & am cautiously optimistic. Thanks for the reaction guys. You seem to have the same perspective as me & seem excited about the possibilities that Season 2 holds for us. I hope they exceed expectations regardless of the purists & die•hards who have already decided it’s crap & are impossible to satisfy regardless of what the show•runners do or don’t do for that matter. Cheers!🙂👍

It's also a bit touchy because Tolkien has passed away and thus handling/changing his work, which is by many considered near perfect and one of the grandfathers of all fantasy, can be considered rather disrespectful.
