Just did this last week in a 4WD Wrangler. It was raining at the time which made for an interesting experience. The road has a pretty hard pack, but it was slippery in some spots and my jeep slid some during the steep downhill. There were also some massive pot holes that would fill with water which made depth hard to judge (don't drive through water when you don't know the depth). Personally, I think a 2WD could do it dry, but you want to have some ground clearance for the ruts and pot holes (SUV/truck). It is single track most of the way so I wouldn't drive anything too wide. I had no cell phone coverage on the road out there so you might be SOL if you get stuck. Lots of burned out and abandoned cars on the way so I take that some locals don't like tourists out there.

It definitely does NOT look like that anymore! Doable if no mud but there will be mud and cars flip. Actually a little better to walk.

Just drove about 8/10ths of the way down Hahana Rd in a 4x4 Renegade (Latitude trim) today. Conditions are absolute garbage by comparison. Tons of deep washouts and potholes, two junked/burned cars, lots of trash dumped. The two steep (for this trail) sections have become very, very lumpy. Had to carry speed to make it up without spinning, but you're limited by the lumps. We bailed because it looked like rain, and the road material seems like it wouldn't be much fun once wet. Many areas are worn down to the rock base material, so you've got to watch your tires if you're in a car. If you're considering this drive on your vacation, think twice. In the dry, a 4x4 Wrangler should be fine. If it's wet at all, better to have another vehicle with you, just in case. Leave one at the top in case you have to hike out and drive to get help.

Just did this in an Impala, the road is in way worse shape than this video shows, WAY WORSE SHAPE, but lots of fun. Signed, the old man, the cripple and the Asian sidekick.

Hey Man, thanks for the video and for the GPS coordinates. The key question is, how hard and how distant it is from the parking spot to a good watching (photo op) spot?!

Looks like a rental car could do it only when the road is bone dry eh?
