@@BlueBeeMCMLXI I don't like people throwing around the word "commercial" regarding music either. This song stands on its own, and I love it. Not just because of the outrageaous clip, but because it's the Stones how I like 'em: dirty and not giving a f. I agree though: If you don't like "popular" and "commercialized", you'd better avoid (current) Stones. Ironically though, I have always believed that with Satisfaction, they wrote the first punk song there ever was. Just read the friggin lyrics. It's the one song all of the punk movement originated from, wether they realize it or not.

It’s a weak Stones album. 8 tracks including total throwaways Melody and Cherry Baby. The two ballads are solid and the standout is Hand Of Fate. Not one of their best as Richards was a mess at the time and his lack of involvement and direction shows.

It seems that Ron Wood often gets put into the second row after following the great Mick Taylor..... and believe me I love the MT stones years ! I think Ronny is a great guitarist and brought a different edge to the stones that you can really hear on this track .... its fantastic because of him. Which brings me to my second point which is the Black & Blue album as a whole. I loved it when I first bought it as a teen in the 70's and it's still one of my all time faves from this band, and as others have mentioned it just gets better with each listen.

not to take away anything from keefs playing but woody is really a force to be reckoned with. hes a major part of their guitar sound and is mostly overlooked.

I remember the billboard over Sunset Boulevard in L.A. that advertised the Black and Blue album when it first came out. It showed a woman tied up and spreadeagled, having bruises all over her body. A caption said, "I'm black and blue for the Rolling Stones." Needless to say, women's groups objected and it came down. The Stones didn't always show the best of taste.

@@gogoyubari366 It got mixed reviews when originally released and there was a controversy about the misogynist imagery on a billboard advertising the album. Personally, it's one of my favorites because it doesn't really sound like a Stones album. They were experimenting with something new.
