Bryn is an artist of world class.... he looks like a warrior but can sing with such tenderness.

Bryn terfel is my favorite baritone singer in the world. His voice has a power and a soul futhermore a romance.

I think there is even more to it than that. I'm not knocking opera for a moment. It takes a lot of skill to sing opera, but I think most opera fans say they hate seeing most opera singers trying to sing pop just as much as they hate pop singers trying to sing opera. And for reasons I don't understand many opera singers when they try to sing pop, make a mess of it. Perhaps emotion in opera is expressed more through technique than intonation of the voice or whatever. I dunno. Someone who does know can chip in if they like. But Bryn is well known as someone who can get up on the stage and sing duets with the likes of Shirley Bassey or whoever and do them well and also take just about any old pop song and do it well. He's a towering figure in more ways than one and has almost superhuman abilities.

È un vero peccato che questo Grande Artista non venga tanto spesso in Italia.

Some say, "Love, it is a river That drowns the tender reed" Some say, "Love, it is a razor That leaves your soul to bleed"Some say, "Love, it is a a hunger An endless aching need" I say, "Love, it is a flower And you it's only seed"It's the heart that fears breaking That never learns to dance It's the dream, afraid of waking That never takes the chanceIt's the one, who won't be taken Who can not seem to give And the soul afraid of dying That never learns to liveWhen the night has been too lonely And… When the night has been too lonely And the road has been too long And you think that love is only For the lucky and the strongJust remember in the winter Far beneath the bitter snows Life's the seed, that with the sun's love In the spring becomes the rose

My daughter's high school chorus seemed to have sung The Rose for every performance . . . it is a high school chorus sort of piece, optimistic and comforting. This version, and not just the fact that Bryn sings lead, is well done . . . the chorus comes in at just the right time behind him.

This is a beautiful song. I love the lyrics. I enjoy Bette Midler's version, but Bryn Terfel's rendition is also world class.

"The Rose" has been sung by both men and women. Many are very well done, as is this version by Bryn Terfel. Enjoy them ALL. There is no need to compare. Life is not a competition. It is meant to be enjoyed, as is music.

I'm sorry, but I honestly don't remember off the top of my heard. I have a vague idea that it was from some Bryn Terfel fan site. You could try Googling Bryn Terfel and looking at Google Images for that search. I'm not sure if KZfaq still allows people to message each other -- I haven't been very active here for a time. But if I remember I will attempt to let you know. (I'm not even sure if I still have them on my hard drive.)

I know of that fan site I think but you have to pay euros to view them and I don't live in the Europe.

the best rendition I've heard of this so far... but a bit confused by the gender comments. Why shouldn't a big bearded bass baritone sing this? why is it a 'female' song? Surely it's how it is sung that matters? coraclewoman
@Sewingbee235 жыл бұрын
No confusion. Bette Middler sung this too but I prefer this version
@mashfan9015 жыл бұрын
this sounds betta with a male singer ive heard both sexes ps females are emotionally more open
