Another wonderful explanation video! I've many times dropped a cast on stitch on the first row and then I'd have to start all over again because I never understood the anatomy of the cast on stitch in that way! So, the next time that happens, maybe I'll be able to fix it without having to re-cast on who knows how many stitches!

Explaining where the yarn began in the cast on before correcting helps immensely. No need to panic. Thanks Suzanne.

BLESS YOU😊! So many videos on dropped stitches, but yours was the only one I found that showed it unraveling all the way to cast on row. And the solution worked beautifully! Thank you SO MUCH!

It is after 5 in the morning (as survivors of 2020, I doubt anyone is surprised to learn I am fully awake and watching KZfaq), and I've been watching stuff in one of my saved folders ... and this video came up. I cannot tell you how happy I was when you took the cast-on stitch out! I had forgotten all about it ~ that's a good thing that I saved the upload! I Uhhhhhhhh ...... I need to go to bed.

Now THAT was brave! I’ve not dropped that low before, so I’m certain I would have cried into my hot cocoa! Thanks for this. I’ve taken a knit break (tenons and other issues), but I am keeping my lessons going. My knit folder is filling up with these video clips for when I get going again when the cold weather starts up.

Very helpful technique (as usual!!!). Quick question. . . What type of cast on was used? I typically use a long tail cast on or a German twisted cast on if I need more stretch in the fabric. Will this work with either of those cast ones? Thank you!
@SuzanneBryan
@SuzanneBryan 3 жыл бұрын
This is the standard long tail cast on. Yes you can do it in other cast ons as well, you just need to deconstruct how you did them and then repeat that. Swatching is always a good way to learn things.

I’m working in the round on a two color colorwork hat. Two rows below I realized that two knit stitches are in the wrong color. How can I fix that without tearing out.
@SuzanneBryan
@SuzanneBryan 3 жыл бұрын
Great question. 1. You can drop down and just let those two stitches out and use the strand of the other color to make the new stitches. You can then readjust the size of the stitches by moving yarn from the surrounding stitches. 2. You can put a marker there (like a thread or marker) and when you are done with the garment, you can go back and duplicate stitch over the mistake. I have done both methods and have been happy with the results of each.

Knitting with Suzanne Bryan thank you! I thought I might be able to use the float. I think I’ll duplicate stitch. You’re awesome!
