The Set Point is a theory with many applications in science and psychology, that posits many systems adhere to standard levels, with only a narrow bandwidth of dynamic variability. Sounds a bit complex, but the examples given show it is easy to grasp. Your meditation has a set point also - a level from which you will not vary greatly. But certain practices, and consistency in meditation will over time, raise your set point.
