Prager University Foundation is a tax-exempt corporation best known for its videos about social issues in America, and American history. Recently it has been trying to inject its videos into the American public school system, and its videos have been roundly criticized for being full of disinformation, for justifying things like slavery, and for doggedly pushing a narrative that if you give the hippies an inch, they'll take a mile, and it's all because they don't fear God. But not just any old God- specifically, Prager's God.

The slavery video really puts Candice Owens role on the right into clear focus. There's no sensible reason to have her make that video. She isn't an expert on history or slavery. She's an online trash talker. The reason to have her do that video is use her skin color as cover for racist talking points.

Being opportunistic isn't a negative quality, in my opinion, but those first two most certainly are. After all, how can a self-absorbed person see opportunities and press their advantage if the only thing they can think of their own little world? Empathy is crucial in that regard. Seeing and feeling as others do allows you to maximize an outcome in your favor, for one example.

@Jimraynor45

That's based on a very shallow interpretation racism and a poor understanding of slavery. Defining racism as merely being violent or unkind towards people of a different race is a poor definition. Imagine a school bully in a very diverse school. If he bullies people of the same race, it's not racist, but the moment he starts to bully a different race, suddenly it's racism? How do you know he isn't just bullying everyone because he likes to push people around and not because of racism? A better definition of racism is not one based on action but belief. It's a set of beliefs that says one race is superior or inferior to another. You could no more easily tell a person is a racist by actions than you could a Christian. Someone going to a Christian church does not automatically make them Christian, nor does violence against a different race automatically make you a racist. I'm sure such nuance is lost on you, but if you actually care about truth and facts, it actually really matters. At some point in history, nearly every race enslaved their own race. Europeans enslaved Europeans and Asians enslaved Asians, same is true for Africans. Slavery is a blight on human history.

I just came to understand that there were things put in place to disrupt and/or discredit grass roots movements and so I decided to remain independent. @@tubeguy4066 there is no such thing as "universal morality". Morality changes over time and with cultural input, including the morals of "god". There was a time when the god in the Bible killed more people than any heathen god of Canaan. The god of the Bible flooded the world and bid Israelites to cut open the wombs of the Canaanites and dash their infants upon the rocks. The way the Abrahamic god treats his own believers is wildly arbitrary and amoral, from Ishmael to Job. He is a petty, spiteful god that does not resemble the god of the New Testament at all. It is so bad a contrast that Gnostics attempted to reconcile the bipolarity with the idea of the demiurge and the monad.

It's worth noting that a fundamental part of Jewish and Christian ethos is that people are supposed to make cases for a better standard of morality in their society as time goes on, and that people should always be working toward treating others more caringly. I'm saying this not to justify any of the tragedies and crimes of the past, but to say further that Prager is a complete tool, as he constantly tries to enforce a stagnant and self-righteous morality on others that is not a progression of Jewish or Christian values but a massive step back. None of anything terrible which happened in the past was ever justified, regardless of what was normal at the time, and just because something was normal does not mean it was seen as moral or fine at the time. So many rancid things people do today is normal, but we all have a problem with things like pollution and corruption, the destabilization and exploitation of smaller nations, etc. And if you are so vain and cowardly as to refuse to criticize the past, you cannot improve your present nor do any good for anyone.

Prager saying "thoughts aren't evil" is an illustration of how incompatible Judaism and Christianity are. It's very natural for Prager, a Jew, to think this, because (to my understanding) Judaism focuses more on action and ritual, and thoughtcrime is specifically a Christian addition. It's just galling to me that he otherwise basically erases this distinction and uses the offensive and inaccurate term "Judeo-Christian" as if that word isn't anything but antisemitic.
