@@nerdyowl3407 It is because clothes on taller and skinner models look better than on shorter and thicker models, since the fashion designers have to make lots of clothes it's gonna be pretty pricy affording all the material, it also takes a lot of time. So they choose men/ladies who are typically tall, flat, and fit because clothes look the best on those people and it saves them more money to choose people with a similar body type rather than people who have a big difference in height and weight. They aren't discluding people to be mean but to save money and time while making the clothes look the best. At least this is what I believe.

If they could spend a bit more money and time including different sizes and types of people then a LOT of things could be normalized in our society (i.e. short men/women, chubby men/women, etc.). Mainstream media plays a very important role when it comes to normalizing things in our society. Inclusivity of all types of people in mainstream media could boost confidence in everyone. As you said that clothes look better on taller and skinner people.. why so? Why do we all think that way? Because that's what the mainstream media has been feeding us. Imagine if all types and sizes of people were treated the same in the fashion industry then we could NEVER distinguish clothes on taller and shorter or skinner and heavier people the way we do now. Media has taught us that body hair is taboo for a woman. And that's what we have been believing all our lives (except for some part of the world). But according to science, mammals have body hair as a form of protection from dirt, virus, bacteria, and different types of microorganisms. Body hair helps the body to keep its warmth and maintain a healthy body temperature. That's why you would see body hair on most mammals on the Earth. Then why is it different for female humans who are also mammals and are supposed to have body hair for their protection? That's because the beauty industry told us that it looks "better" to have a "smooth hairless" body when you are a woman. Ironic! I gave this example to point out how HUGE of an impact the media has on our lives and on the way we think and accept things.

I think lily rose is charismatic with a vaguely alien beauty, even if her parentage (her mother specifically) is what brought her close to brands like Chanel. She works better as a brand ambassador than runway model though. She was cute as the Chanel bride - that’s often a role given to model-adjacents (ie actresses linked to the brand - see the Christy Turlington model documentary)

I think fashion looks for the children of celebrities in hopes that they will entice their rich friends to buy the clothing. That's how the modeling industry actually started back in the 40s and 30s… The local clothing stores and designers would hire the daughters of rich families to model the clothes in hopes they would bring their rich friends to the store to buy as well .
