That “whatever you do, do it with confidence” is a really important skill. I see lots of young players after missing a shot or getting trash talked, get really down on themselves, when they really shouldn’t. Being able to not care what other people think opens your playstyle and makes you more confident.

Yes. The concept of "0,5 seconds." You have 0,5 seconds after the catch to do something. Shoot, attack, or swing it. This concept changed my game for the better tremendously.

honestly, I already know what I want to do before I get the ball by trying and seeing the floor and my defender before I even receive it. Try that out because it actually helped me a lot. I learned that from playing soccer. In soccer oftentimes you have to actually try and think 2-3 moves ahead.

@loverofhumanity Yeah, I know I'm also originally a high-level soccer player, so I know what you mean. Preferably, you do know before the catch what you do (Defender far away? Shoot. Defender closes out hard? Attack and create an advantage by scoring or punishing the help. Defender already on you in a good stance? Most likely, swing it if you don't have the match-up advantage.) The concept of 0,5 seconds just points out how fast you have to execute that decision. You can't analyze the opponent, decide what to do, and execute in only 0,5 seconds while having the ball anyway. So you're right. Know what to do before the ball is in your hand!

im our dirty work guy and an underrated part of playing with a player like me or a big connector is being constantly ready and build a connection with us if we know what looks you prefer we can find you way easier be it a half court pass a outlet or a kick out after a slash or a rebound we like our guys in their spots spot hunting is a very difficult skill but its critical

Coach I wanted to ask, I have gotten my form down and now just need to get more consistent with it in game. Do I do workout by my self focusing this or should I keep live shooting in my workouts?

ngl he did basically the opposite of what was taught in this video. After he said don't make tough shots you can get to anytime he did that the next play. The guy in the black shirt with the mullet is the real goat being able to act quickly off reads and getting good easy buckets

Nah, he was the one who did the least good imo. He often did the opposite of what was taught. Did you really understand the concept? I often see people overrate "hoopers," players who make it more complicated than it needs to be. But if they make it, it looks pretty, and that's the reason they get overrated. You overrated the dude in light blue because of that.

Title: The simple mindset all great players have. Then, you talk about reacting to the defense instead of forcing the defense to react to you. Then, telling kids that coaches that say, "keep it simple" or to drive in straigh lines is wrong. Again, I really want to show you the reality of NBA-level basketball. Teaching these kids the wrong things literally limits their growth. Training for non-game situations is worthless.
