I’ll never forget when I saw this film in the theater, everyone was completely laughing their asses off when Itchy starting stabbing Scratchy with the flagpole. Probably because of how fast and unexpected it was

I will likely never say this again because German dubs are (in my opinion) usually not the greatest, but I recommend anyone check out the German dub of this scene. Scratchy's voice actress' screams are so amazingly unhinged that even the oiginal doesn't compare - I was blown away to learn they weren't in fact the original version!

The Movie was my introduction to the Simpsons and I had no idea who Itchy and Scratchy were. it was really strange to me that a Mouse was doing all these bad things to a nice Cat.

I had already seen Tom and Jerry prior to watching the movie as my first Simpsons experience as a kid. So I thought it was just an exaggerated version of that dynamic.

Me when I was a kid watching this scene: *laughing so hard* Me now watching this scene: Damn, wait wasn't Scratchy's helmet broken by Itchy literally a couple seconds ago, now when the missiles are launched and we cut back to him his helmet isn't broken until he lets out a big scream (and for those people who will take this seriously, fyi, it's a joke)
