My favorite reactions are the ones where Mary is pleasantly surprised by how much she enjoys a movie or a genre she thinks she doesn't like.

That final scene with Cole and his mother in the car always makes me cry.

I was totally oblivious to this when I saw it in the theater. But to be honest, the writer played fair. All the clues were there. But like Cole said of the ghosts: they only see what they want to see. I wasn't thinking in terms of Malcolm having NOT survived from the first scene. Great reaction! I love how you get into the movies you react to.

Cole: "I see dead people. [...] They're everywhere". Mary: "Are they in this room right now?". 😂 This is a masterpiece, glad you started your scary movies with this one. FYI, I don't know anybody who saw the twist coming. And the movie is worth a 2nd watch, just to confirm that every scene actually makes perfect sense (they do).

I saw this in theaters when it came out. People were absolutely shocked when the reveal happened, no one expected it. This was back before people really expected twists in movies, too, or at least, not with the frequency they kind of do now, Pretty much no one saw it coming, it was great. I'm glad you enjoyed it. :)

Great reaction as always. Haley Joel Osment who played Cole was nominated for an Oscar for this role . You may also remember him from Forest Gump . He played Forest’s son.

One of the most remarkable things about this movie, is that people watching it for the first time are always amazed by the twist. The movie is 22 years old and was a big hit at the time, but it is one of a very few movies that people who have watched it, feel compelled to keep the ending secret. Even when I have heard people discussing it, they will check that the person they are talking to has seen it before they will mention the twist. It's either because they remember how much they enjoyed the reveal or they have a respect for the movie - or a combination of the two. Everyone knows who Luke Skywalker's dad is, every one knows who died in Harry Potter, even if they don't watch the movies, but the 6th sense seems to be a movie that everybody - on their own - decides that they must preserve the secret, must preserve that element of surprise, for those who have not seen it yet.

One of the greatest bombshell endings of all time. And the twist was so brilliantly executed. All the signs were there--all the clues. We were all so caught up in Cole's drama, the tension and troubles, and the resolution of those--kept us distracted from Malcolm's relationship with his wife. We were following Malcolm's effort to help Cole, so we accepted his perception of the deteriorating relationship with his wife. In retrospect, it seems so obvious, but almost no one saw it coming.

Oh man, it’s so wonderful when someone can see this without knowing there is a twist. Such a great movie experience, loved the reaction!

Saw it opening night in theaters, the entire crowd reacted in loud audible inhales each time the music kicked up before glimpsing a ghost lol, and in a much longer and louder version during the reveal. When the end credits faded onto the screen, the theater was just sniffles for about 5 seconds, and then applause. It was an experience. Saw it 6 more times in theaters after that just to piece it all together, and there really are no holes. Such a beautiful, well written, well acted movie. And Haley Joel Osment still has one of the greatest performances- not just child performance! - of all time, in my opinion. And Toni Collete (the scene in the car, every time!) was phenomenal!

Back in the day, I don't recall anyone seeing the ending coming. It was before social media and spoilers, and no one went in thinking there was a massive twist in the tail. No one had heard of M Night either. We now know he nearly always has a twist. It was beautifully crafted, acted, and the subtle direction was perfection, and no one expected Bruce to be so good at restrained acting. Brilliant movie, and your reactions were so much fun to watch.

Saw this when it came out. What was most amazing was, people would ask “Have you seen The Sixth Sense? …See it!” But no one spoiled it. It was so deserving of that respect. I feel like if it came out today people wouldn’t be able to wait to tell you the twist. Fortunately it’s old enough of a movie now that you were able to watch it without anyone giving it away. I have watched dozens of reactions to this movie. You edited it PERFECTLY. You kept all the relevant scenes in & no unnecessary ones. The kid who said, "Come on, I'll show you where my dad keeps his gun" didn't have his head smashed in, he had part of it blown off because he was messing with a gun. This movie is a masterpiece. Great reaction!

This movie is so painful and beautiful, and now seeing people react to it, those emotions are even stronger now in light of Bruce Willis' diagnosis of dysphasia. His performance was so gentle and raw, and It's such a perfect piece of work. Everyone involved was cast perfectly and delivered outstanding performances.

I love this movie. I saw it in theaters and the reveal completely shocked me. I love his mom and she’s who I try to be while raising my son. Every time I watch this movie or a reaction to it I cry like a little baby too. It’s just a lovely film.

The actress playing the Mom is terrific. She played a completely different role in "About a Boy" a great, heartwarming movie with Hugh Grant. I highly recommend it.

Mind blown was my reaction originally when I first saw this movie. I've seen it many times, but I always shed tears when Cole is talking with his Mother about her Mother and what she said when she asked her the question. A very touching scene.

The joy of reactions is seeing somebody being taken along the same twists and turns of a given storyline. It allows us to somehow re-capture those same emotionslos joy, fear, fun, terror… that ate the mark of great story. This is one of those few films that obfuscate the plot with a second plot so that the fact that you’ve been tricked all along is all the more wonderfully mesmerizing. Great reaction, loved how scared you were going in. It added to the effect of the few jump scares. As a whole the movie isn't scary as much as it is tense and intriguing. All the tension builds and then is released when Cole finally connects with his mom and then the twist hits and you lose it. I've always seen twists like this coming in most movies over the years, this caught me completely off guard.

I was spoiled going in, so I knew the twist. A few people predicted the ending, but the vast majority never saw it coming. This movie benefits from a second watch.

I am really bad at seeing things coming before they happen, and then being disappointed that I figured it out before hand. This one got past me without me seeing it, and it is still one of my favorite movies of all time because of that reason.

When I saw the film many years ago, I noticed all the "Red" symbols. The serviette, the doorknob leading to the basement/cellar, the read balloon at the birthday party, the church door, and Cole's red sweater. Cole knew that Malcolm was a ghost from the beginning of the film. They were the only two communicating.

A true rollercoaster of a movie and I’m glad its been all these years and you didn’t know about the ending. You mirrored the reactions I had when I first watched this movie. It’s an incredible movie that took me by complete surprise. I’d suggest watching it again now you know. You’ll notice the subtle ways the characters interact that show he (Bruce Wills) is not really there. Great movie and brilliant reaction.

I didn't watch this movie until maybe 10 or 15 years after it came out. I was told the twist end because every show or movie mentioned the ending as it was just one of those references to add to a movie to compare it with. When I did see it, finally, I was still amazed by the story. This, to me, is a great example of a near perfect movie.

In the commentary for this movie, the director said that every time a spirit interacts with the physical world, that item is red. Cole's sweater, the basement doorknob, Cole's fort, the box the dead girl gives him, everything was red.

I hosted the Scottish premiere, and we all knew there was a twist, but it knocked us sideways. I took my Mum a few weeks later, and about an hour in she guessed the ending. When I asked her how she knew, she said "Bruce Willis hasn't changed clothes the whole film. Either he's dead ot he's filthy".

One of my favorite films. I saw it in the theater in 1999. Huge hype and no internet or social media to spoil it. We were all blown away by the twist back then! And anyone who says they figured it out is lying 😅

Saw this movie in LA when it first opened. Definitely a film crowd. The were audible gasps from the whole theatre when we realized the twist. You could just feel the shock. This film was masterfully done with amazing performances by everyone.

Great reaction! As always! I remember seeing this one in the cinema back in the days - and at the moment of THE plot twist, the complete, huge room full of people were at shock. The movie ended and it was completely silent. Never experienced something like that again.

You’ve watched Alien, The Thing, The Shining, The Exorcist, and Halloween. You’re going to be fine. Most horror films aren’t going to be able to match the intensity of those.

Red is always present whenever a ghost is present. One of my favorite movies.

The last 10-15 mins of this movie are near perfect. Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment and Toni Collette are superb.

I love some of the subtle things that happen in a scene. For example, you see Malcolm and his wife at the restaurant and she glanced up in his direction and you think she's reacting to what he's talking about, when actually she hears a happy couple behind him laughing and she briefly looks up toward them instead.

I saw it in a packed theater a week before it opened in one of those free pass sneak preview screenings you used to get tickets to if you watched the local free paper. No one knew anything about it. The trailer was vague. Reactions in that screening were very much like yours. When the ring dropped and rolled, we started to hear people whisper "Oh my God" all over the theater. There was applause when the credits rolled. And afterward, everyone stood around the theater talking to each other about what we'd just seen. It was amazing. I saw it many more times. You're right, it's a beautiful film. I just love watching people discover it. Great reaction.

That particular scene where Cole tells him his secret is extra emotional because that wasn’t the first time he had experienced that confession. He just didn’t treat it as seriously as he should have the first time he heard it. And that same boy grew up and ended up doing what we all know he did…

I saw this opening night and absolutely did not see the twist coming. Quite a memorable experience too because until the twist I was already pleased with what a good movie it was. The moment of the big reveal turned a great movie experience into an awesome one, and still one of my most memorable movie memories. I think people today probably guess it more often than they did then because plot twists are more of a thing in movies than they were then. But going into it blind as you did and not knowing there is a twist decreases the chances of catching it. I think it’s great you got to experience it that way it was intended instead of being distracted trying to figure out the twist. Great reaction, Mary!👍

The twist is the big talking point but it's the final scene with Cole and his Mum that really makes this incredible.

There are two types of people in this world: *1.* People who claim that they, in fact, saw the twist coming either "the whole time," or at least long before the reveal. *2.* People who tell the _truth!_

I think this is the best supernatural movie ever. It transcends the genre by deemphasizing the usual tropes and gore to deliver a deeper meaning.

The people sugesting movies are not monsters, I knew you would like this one, that twist is memorable.

As much as it's amazing to see Bruce Willis' depth and range of roles.. and to recognize Haley Joel Osment for his amazing performance here and in other movies.. Can we just have a moment to recognize Donnie Walberg, who not only was in this, but also in Band of Brothers as Lipton AND in New Kids on the Block all in the same lifetime?

When this was released I was friends with a Dallas police officer who was about to take his detective test. He was absolutely furious he didn't pick up on all the clues. We all loved the film though.

Welcome to the club! I was completely caught off guard, too. Knowing how you reacted to Stranger Thinks with Will and Joyce and the other relationships, I knew this one would touch you in a good way, not a scary way. So it was so cool seeing you nervous at first, knowing you would love it in the end.

Love your reactions, and glad you liked this movie. My ex saw it before me, and told me I HAD to see it (this was when it had just come out on video, and I knew everyone was talking about the "shocking" ending). Right after Willis was shot, my ex was on the phone with her friend, and I said "Bruce Willis is dead, isn't he?" Her immediate reaction was to say "I hate you." :)

For me, the biggest surprise came when I found out who played the naked crazy guy at the beginning. I wouldn't have expected such an INCREDIBLE performance out of Donny Wahlburg.. of New Kids on the Block fame. I thought he deserved waaaaay more recognition for his tiny role then the little boy for his big role. and no religion or church keeps the dead people away...lol. religion is steeped in death and dead and dying.. why would it keep his fear away? Malcolm did help him in the end.. to understand his gift and how to use it.

many movies, you may see once and think "ok. i'm good"... and might never purposefully watch it again. i think many see this movie and want to rewatch once (at least) to view it in a totally different way.

I saw this in the theater when it first released. Everyone was shocked by the twist ending, everyone loved it. And there was a tacit agreement that no one spoiled it for anyone else. Usually word got around -- like when Empire Strikes Back came out, people were spreading around that Darth Vader was Luke's father before the first day was over -- but no one spoiled Sixth Sense. It was too awesome, and we all wanted everyone else to have the same experience. It's wonderful that there are still people who haven't seen or heard about the movie, and it's my single favorite movie to watch reactions of. :)

I watched this annually for my birthday along with The Mask as a kid. I wasn't big on jump scares as a kid but this movie was one of my faves. The hints of red whenever there is a ghost is soothing as well.

I remember when this came out. It was later discovered that all the clues you need, are shown, by the color red. When you see red it is important.

The best part of this movie is rewatching it. You will spend most of the rewatch thinking, 'how did I NOT figure it out?!'

I didn't see the movie when it came out, somehow managed to avoid spoilers for a couple of years till it was on telly. Me and housemates were sat watching it and about half an hour before the end another housemate comes in from work, pops her head in the door and asks "Has he found out he's dead yet?"

Such a good one for re-watching, now that you know the twist. We watched this in a film class, and discussed both the storytelling aspect and the colors. Anytime there's red in a scene, there are also dead people. The red door knob, the red balloon, red roses and blazer on the mom at the funeral, etc.

This is one of the most amazing and famous twists ever in a film. The boy who played Cole (Haley Joel Osment) was nominated for an Oscar for his preformance and should have won in my opinion.

I saw this is a theater. It was Summer, and the Air Conditioning was so strong we were freezing there. When Cole said it gets cold when there are ghosts around, there were giggles. Also, when the movie was just released, a movie critic in a major newspaper started his critique with: "A dead psychologist finds a troubled boy..." There were letters to the editor asking the newspaper fired the critic. They didn't, and never again the critic gave up the movie's ending.

In the last scene with Cole and his mom when he delivers the line "every day", I read once that the director kept the actors lines from each other until shooting, so when Toni Collette reacted to Haley Osment's line the reaction was all the more genuine. At least I choose to believe that's the case. Lol

I never saw it coming and was totally blown away when I first saw this film. The surprising thing for me is that the story is so good I can enjoy it over and over, even though I know the ending's twist. The other surprising thing is that you didn't already know that twist. "I see dead people" and the movie's ending are a couple of the most famous elements of cinema in this century. Great film and great reaction vid.

i remember going to watch this at the cinema and I was running abit late, the young at the ticket booth said "the trailers has started and if you were another 5 minutes later i wouldn't of let you in." this movie has stuck with me for quite sometime. :)

I was completely blindsided by the ending. It all made sense once you knew the twist. Watching it again you marvel at how all the clues were out in the open but never gave anything away.

I still like M. Night Shyamalan and enjoy most of his films but I wish I could go back and experience this film for the first time again. I remember it coming out of nowhere, my mom said "I watched that movie. I was scared, and I laughed, and I was in tears". I was like "in tears??? It's a horror thriller". She said "wait til you see it". She was right.

It’s definitely m night shyamalan’s best movie. It makes you jump, scares you, makes you cry, and makes you happy all in one movie. And the ending just blows your mind. So great and great acting. Haley Joel Osment won a Saturn for this movie and was nominated for an Oscar and golden globe for playing Cole.

This is such a rewatchable movie! It is filmed so well, and it's a joy to go back and see all the clues that you didn't see in the first viewing !

I saw this movie when it came out in the theater, and by the time I walked out into the sunlight, I decided to buy another ticket and watch it again right away. I wanted to see all the times when I thought the doctor was interacting with people but only Cole was actually seeing him, to see if the twist made sense. And it did.
