So, this is a Smart Tag. This particular one is from Samsung and I didn’t buy it, it came as part of the pre-order deal with the S21 Ultra along with their new Buds Pro.
Anyway, the Smart Tag existed already from a company called Tile and now it seems Apple is also jumping on board, so what is a Smart Tag?
Simply put, it’s a small Bluetooth tracker which can help you to locate your lost items but we’ll go over everything it can do in this video.

I didn't really have a clear conclusion so I'll say this, the Galaxy SmartTag does exactly what it says it does. I was especially impressed with the remote find feature, my girlfriend's Samsung phone was in the house while I went outside to test and I got the notification that my tag was found (she did not get notified). If you're clumsy or forgetful this could really save you someday, so for $30 I can definitely recommend it.

Note: These tags only work with Samsung Galaxy devices. I purchased one and downloaded the app on my android phone. The app gave me an error that it only works with Samsung devices. I sent it back and ordered a Tile Pro.

I bought it in hopes of using it when I travel. I planned on putting it on my suitcase if it was lost or mishandled by the airlines.

Can I set this up with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Lite and then use the smartthings app that I have on my asus android phone for the day to day stuff? Looking at putting 1 in my suitcase/ backpack

Thanks for showing the wallet size, no one else mentioned it anywhere. I think I'll still get it, but I'll need a bulkier wallet which sucks.

thanks for your explain, but why should i open the internet when i deal with smart tag even if the tag in Bluetooth range ? is there any way to get notified when tag is out of Bluetooth range ?

Hehe snyggt att använda jojo kortet 👌 Men en fundering jag har, måste man använda en Samsung eller går det att sätta upp taggen med en annan Android? Kör själv på en OnePlus 9 pro just nu. Står mellan att använda en airtag eller galaxy tag till mitt fordon, inte så lätt att tappa bort ett fordon dock, så är mestadels ute efter att kunna spåra ifall den blir stulen. En gps kostar mer och även en månadsavgift på det

Tile is cross platform. Nextag is not. Move off Samsung with your mobile and you have a problem. So you buy another Samsung, exactly what they want!

@@capablancauk true, but with the samsung tag or airtag it's much easier to find since those brands are more popular, but yes tile is nice too

If you lost your wallet in a busy place (shopping malls, Airports, Train, Bus stations, Busy walkway...) where thousand of people are moving through - do you believe your chances to GET IT are stronger than if you lost it in a forest?? Yeah, it'll tell you precisely and accurately and quickly what garbage can your empty wallet is IN!!! They try to sell craps. Don't buy it. It's actual Bluetooth distance that works (unless you rely on GPS tracker which is another animal).

Does it have an alarm feature for say example you leave your keys on a counter and start to walk away. Can it alert you when you surpass a specific distance?

So basically other people's smart tags will use my phone when im on my way and use my data plan to present itself.. Sheesh. Can we detect other ones smart tags nearby if someone want to stalk on me or are they remain hidden?

No, It just pings to the nearest samsung passing by then will give your phone update when last pinged. So in the city you will have almost second updates on the location if it's stolen.

No sadly it's only working with Samsung phones. If you need an alternative check out Tile, they do a similar sort of thing but should be universal with compatibility.

If there is a samsung phone near your child's smart tag it will ping the latest location of your child. So any samsung phone passing will give up to date locations.

It only works with "flagship" Samsung phones, not the lower, cheaper models.

Hi, unfortunately I believe it is only working on Samsung phones. I know Apple have just come out with their own AirTags though which you may want to look into.

Not to complain but.. 5 minutes and 20 seconds and you didn't cover if the Device has a proximity alert and if it does what are the setting distances before it alerts you.

Waste of money. I can't use mine anymore as they're registered on an app on a phone that no longer works. Therefore, I can't deregister and use on new phone. Only fit for the bin now.

not bad. Although you FAILEED to say that this tracker DOE NOT WORK on any other Android device except Samsung!?? So, one needs to pay $2000 do get this little buddy of $30 to work?? How SMART is this?? FYI, Tile Pro tracker works with ANY device. Android or Apple. Go figure!

Seems to me that it's just something extra to sell ya. And, if you do lose your phone it better be close to the tag or it will not find it!??! It's if I lose it at the grocery store is where it would come in handy. But sounds to me like it would not do that. I'm gonna say pass on this one.

the tag is there to find other things you attach it too, not to find your phone lol. If you lose your phone just log in on samsung account and check the map where its at

You can track these world wide, not just within close range. Beyond close range, it bings off of other Samsung phones, which updates it on the map.

If you don't know how to use it, then you don't know what they even are. That's like doing a review of a calculator but having to explain what one is before starting the review. If you know what a tag is, then yes, this was a great review.

Yes, more than 80% of people leave their Blutooth and GPS on on their phones all the time, God bless them because that's the way I can track my Smartag as it rides hiding under my wife's car.

Why buy a product that you are locked to one manufacturer. If you find a product that try to lock you down, leave! Exclusivity is a way to drain your wallet. Apple, then Microsoft, now Samsung. Big bullies.

If you have all samsung products it just makes the eco system a lot easier, same with apple. And since you need the samsung network of galaxy devices to track, it's quite logical the "product is locked down"

@@noodlecake7108 the network and ecosystem can be cross platform if manufacturers let it. They lock you up on purpose. I am a Linux user and am used to working and setting thing up across platforms securely. But when it is done out of pure greed as in the case of Samsung smartag well that company looses my, my friends and my family's support. We (the general public) are not all stupid enough to believe the bull. Microsoft has realised that it has to work with others the reason it now uses Linux script. Bullies!

bought one, it's a joke. if you live on more than 1 acre you're screwed because there are no other phones around for it to communicate with. people miss the point, the phone has to be samsung and have all it's wifi, bluetooth, gps etc turned on and be willing to share that info otherwise this wont work. who leaves their phone unsecure like that? go to a mall, it will work then, but in reality this is a waste of time.

I think it uses GPS on other people's phones that even have it set to "off". Just like Google Maps that even when your phone's GPS is set to "off" it still sends your location to them, it's in the Terms Agreements everytime you update your Google Maps.
