Yay - Smiths rock out :-) cruising on T Rex’s ‘Metal Guru’ chords. The DJ in question (BBC Radio 1’s most irritating, Steve Wright) cut without pause from breaking news of the Chernobyl nuclear meltdown to jokey jingles and frothy pop, earning this slap from Morrissey

was this also a time of IRA bombings and sectarian violence going on in Ireland? I can imagine that along with growing anger at Margaret Thatchers economics, that something other than pre-fabricated disposable pop/disco was desperately needed to counter-act the "everything's fine!" (or the oft used English saying "I'm alright Jack!", ( keep Calm and Carry On etc) ...as long as you're rich, white and safe in your suburbs. was the reference to "grasmere", the small village in Cumbria, beloved of poet William Wordsworth. so you've got to wonder why "honey pie you're not safe here, so you run down to the safety of the town".

I remember seeing The Smiths 1985 March 25th Bradford St George’s Hall United Kingdom when I was 15, me and a friend snook into the gig on a school night without a ticket just too see Morrissey. We are from Manchester and this man was a true performer and at the time was such an idol too me. This performance was incredible !

35 years exactly since the release of Panic. Thankfully the standard of DJing has improved since then. Less need for rope. Jury still out on Steve Wright in the afternoon.

The story is, the DJ on BBC1 announced the Chernobyl Nuclear disaster and the nuclear meltdown spewing radiation all over Europe. Then the DJ shifts into playing "I'm Your Man" by Wham. Marr and Morrissey were listening and thus a song was born.

I don't know. You basically have to display the trax with either the original Video or Live in~concert footage to garnish the full effect. Hearing it an watching the Lyrics pop up is kinda distracting . To be honest. 'As a side note'. But Viva Morrissey
