The St. George Utah Temple Nears Completion

Wait until you see the progress from the last St. George Utah Temple update. A lot has changed. The historic temple and the north addition are ready for paint. Watch the drywall finishers do a level five finish, the highest standard in construction. Walls so smooth they suspend belief. Listen to why and how the finishers get so close to perfection. You'll want to pay close attention to the beautiful millwork in the north addition too. It replicates the arched doorways of the historic temple with such a seamless transition that guests won't know where the original parts of the temple begin and the new construction ends. Also, see the latest addition to the landscaping that will help transform the temple grounds into a true desert oasis.

Attending the Cedar City and Las Vegas temples for the last 2.5 years, amidst the closures and limited attendance schedules has stretched and strengthened my faith. I'll never take living so close to a temple for granted again! I am more committed than ever to get the saving ordinances done for my ancestors and have been praying for this day. Gathering Israel on both sides of the veil is the most important thing we can spend our time and energy in.

I had the privilege of visiting, this beautiful temple, October 2006..I traveled all the way from Australia. Alot of history, had taken place within those walls..I admire, the work that is going on, ATM. To here of its trades people, expressing, nothing but the best, is needed , shows the respect ,towards the Lord's house. God bless ,the beautiful city of St George Utah.🙏❤️

I attended the rededication in 1975 . Can't wait to see it now as my ancestors helped build it originally. My grandparents were also temple workers there and when I have been able to go there I can't help but expect to see them around corner.

So excited i cant wait to go back to my temple we miss it so very much for 10 years every week 2 to 3 times a week its such a great blessing to be able to go back to the house of the lord

This was so exciting to see this video of the update of the renovation of the St. George Temple!!!! I don’t think I’ve seen another video about the St. George Temple renovation… So this was very wonderful to see!!! This is thrill! I wonder though, why a beautiful desert-scape was not chosen for the grounds. Native red rock could be used and cactus. And importantly would be less water-dependent.

My understanding is that it's a mix. They mentioned drought-tolerant plants in the video, and I understand that they have greatly reduced the amount of grass that it used to have. Even the Los Angeles Temple, which was famous for its ginormous front lawn, has had that reduced in recent years as well, with drought-tolerant plants being installed. Pretty obvious that they're concerned about climate change. It's important to save water!

I served as a missionary at the St.George Temple Visitors Center. I absolutely loved being so close to the beautiful St. George temple and am so happy to see its beauty and sacredness being preserved!

I've gotten to work on it. I'm one of the caulkers that caulked the precast on the North Annex last April (2020). I was endowed there before going on my mission in 1996. It's my temple, so it's pretty cool to have my signature on it.

When will it be dedicated? I would love to go with my family, my husband and I were married there. We live in Houston so I need time to prepare a trip.

@@Al_Gore_Rhythmn there will likely be an open house before the dedication. The general public is invited to the open house. After it's dedicated, it will be like all other temples and will require a Temple Recommend to enter.

I believe the plan is to restore as many original design features as possible. The tower cap was originally dark, and later painted white.
