Used to be a huge Starbucks fan for like 20 years. Visited frequently, loved the warm environment. Little by little the brand started to change. No more comfy leather seating for girls night out or warm environment for a fun treat for the kids. Coffee quality went down and tasted burnt. Prices went up, they ruined the rewards. You used to have a month to redeem your birthday reward, then it went down to a week, then 3 days, then only same day. They were cheaping out on their frequent customers. Renovations made them look sterile and modern instead of warm and welcoming...with the overpriced bad coffee, snotty barista's, uncomfortable modern chairs, brighter lighting. Started to feel likey they forgot about us lifers that helped them grow and sll they focused on were the teens with all those ridiculously weird drinks. It all just became a hard no for me. 20 years of never going to Dunkin Donuts because i thought it was trash in comparison to Starbucks, but i like Dunkin now. Not for hanging out, but just a quick grab and go. Coffee is actually better (strong but not burnt) and it's much easier on the wallet. The rewards are also way better. If i want a girls night out with the girls we visit a local coffeehouse and support small business. Bye Starbucks. You just don't check any boxes off my list anymore.

You people talk as if you are living in some 3rd world country without any basic amenities. Are Americans with their big houses filled with stuff not comfortable? If you were going out regularly....it means that you had enough to cough up on these things in the past....why wouldn't you have a get together in the comfort of your own house? Spending money regularly on trinkets for years and then complaining about rising prices is something that only a financially illiterate person can say.

I'm German, and my first encounter with Starbucks was at the headquarters of a company I worked with in 2006. Everybody had access to free coffee near their offices, there was a cafeteria selling somewhat better coffee at 1 € - and a Starbucks at the entrance of the building that was usually packed at the end of lunch breaks. Some people went there every day, waiting 10 to 20 minutes to spend over 3 € for coffee plus some for an absurdly priced cookie every day. If you have a brand making people do that, dilution and overexpansion will ruin everything.

All hot coffee… It's not just paper; it's laced with polyethylene plastic, a barrier that keeps your coffee from soaking through. Shockingly, a study revealed that in just 15 minutes, hot liquids can leach 25,000 microplastic particles into your cup. Yet, we rarely question it.

7-Eleven coffee has always had a silent but large following. Back in the 80s, I worked at a 7-Eleven, and they beat it into my head to never have a pot of coffee on the warmers more than 30 minutes old, and when working graveyard shift, to have all the cooler and dry goods shelves stocked and faced by 4 am, to mop the floors around 4:30, and then to start making coffee between 5:00 and 5:15 am. And to keep at least 4-5 full pots on the Bundt warmers, plus 1 pot of decaf. And sure enough, the coffee rush would start coming in by 5:40 am, and it was all I could do to keep up with making coffee and running the cash register until the end of my shift at 7 am. I would always combine the coffee pots and start another fresh pot before I punched out, because the coffee rush would go until 9 am; later on the weekends. You would not believe how fast the coffee would run out at a 7-Eleven!

I swear: I have never been to Starbucks and will ne er go, the average cost of a brewed coffee at Starbucks is around $2.50 to $4.50, depending on the size and any customizations. In contrast, the cost to make a cup of coffee at home can range from $0.25 to $1.00. The most over priced coffee chain. Further my home made coffee is better. Friends who come over, ask me for make coffee, even before say "hello".

@@main_stream_media_is_a_joke I notice this all the time, and how trends/trendy words can push a button in consumer's minds. If you haven't noticed lately (a couple years now) that it's very easy to sell anything to guys if you simply add the word 'tactical' into the wording of ads.. 🤣🤷🤦 Tactical pants, Tactical hoodie, Tactical flashlight, Tactical toilet paper... Society is just a population swayed and manipulated by trends.. Society is basically just dumb and obnoxious altogether and there are cliques within it. The majority of society has been tricked into spending constantly, and well beyond their actual means through credit cards, which were pushed hard in the early 90s.. and then the number of malls and chain restaurants and fast food places surged, and then consumer ads in tv/cable TV were greatly increased as well as TV shows about spending money like food/restaurant shows, shows about remodeling homes, shows about celebrities homes, etc.. A few years ago suddenly everyone was a food and beer expert, because of the trend of TV shows about these things, and they were literally obnoxious/pretentious about it.. All done to brainwash society to spend, spend, and then spend some more.. Everyone had/has to have a home which is too big, and looks like a famous celebrities home with a massive master suite, and a $30k Gordon Ramsay kitchen.. yet they're out eating at restaurants most of the time, and or out shopping.. and being home is viewed as boring.. Society is just far too easy to manipulate

My wife and I frequent a variety of local coffee shops and have our favorite drinks with all of them, not just one. Regarding the incident of those arrested, it’s not a bus-stop but a place of business, so I don’t think Starbucks was out of line in asking them to leave if they weren’t paying customers. What they were doing is basically called loitering, which interferes with paying customers who are entitled to the comforts of the business. Those arrested should have left or bought something to justify their presence and not turned into something racial when they’re the ones who created the problem.

Starbucks has always had bad coffee, unless you get those specialty drinks. I can't do that as I don't eat sugar. I think they burn their coffee. Quite frankly if you want good coffee, select good beans, grind them yourself and make it yourself and drink it in a ceramic cup. If you go out find a coffee shop that grinds it's beans on sight and serves it in ceramic cups, NOT paper.

It's commendable that Chinese people have worked to preserve their culture of drinking tea or coffee, leading to Starbucks creating its biggest roastery outside the US in China. A white guy can sell literally ANYTHING to an Indian. Most Indians are desperate to be seen as someone who has "taste" and the money to throw at overpriced stuff.....if that is something that will showcase to the others his/her "refined" taste and status. There are innumerable local food items, from every state that are way better and unique than anything from the West.....but most Indians simply do not know how to glamourize, market and sell their good stuff.

In India Starbucks have 400 hundred stores in all Stores one thing is common that you first pay for the order then wait for your name to be called then you have to pickup your oder yourself .All other cafe serve you on your table like Coasta coffee, The coffee beans and tea leaf, local cafe like coffee cafe Day ,Third Wave etc. There prices are cheaper than 25% to % 50% with a Quality coffee they are rising more than Starbucks . But Starbucks continue sticking to its Self service policy Which is very very Disturbing : because Starbucks thinks they are the Global company why to care for local needs this is nothing but " Arrogance " .

Many other coffee companies opened up over the decades but I can't say any were better or worse than Starbucks. I spent 6 years in the Twin Cities area when I first tried Caribou. Was my go to for a chain coffee shop, their coffee didn't taste burnt. When I moved away and couldn't find one near, I truly missed it.

Demasiado mercadeo.

Never mentioned the unions or the lawsuits or the recent Starbucks v.mckinney from Memphis where equity somehow supersedes the NLRA NLRB discretion despite having congress codify the statue

Do people have a right to wait and sit in a shop without buying vs Do police have the right to arrest a person waiting in a store and occupying a seat of a paying customer?

It is over priced, I'll say that. Bad tasting...not so. Their Pike Place roast is A+++ and has the reviews to back it up. I think the people who knocked Starbucks are people who don't like big corporations or what is popular. Maybe they feel good about themselves supporting a mom and pop and it makes them feel elite. I dunno. Great brewed coffee from Starbucks though! Always hot. Always fresh.
