I started researching the RV industry about a year ago and have learned so much from channels like yours. At this point I think I will buy used pre-COVID. And yes I will get it inspected.

I would really like to upgrade to a newer Class A. However my 2007 31' Winnebago Access Class C is now 17 years old and has 120,000 miles on it. I keep meticoulosly clean and upgraded as I go. It's been well maintained mechanically and I've never broke down, except for one blowout, And, I haven't found a Class A that is as comfortable as mine. It would be a easier to rebuild or get a new engine if and when the time comes and it would cost me way less then a new RV.

Those are all good points for keeping the RV you already have Bob. The current culture is one where people think they have to upgrade every few years or so. But that's a good way to spend a lot of money unnecessarily. If you have an RV that you enjoy and are happy with, why not stick with it as long as you can? Safe and happy RV travels to you Bob!

I was thinking on upgrading to a bigger nicer toy hauler but 1 year warranty for a new $40K +unit that's probably going to have issues is an absolute joke.

Personally I wouldn't have any problem with buying a new RV these days as long as I buy it from the right brands and use an RV inspection to my advantage.

What are your thoughts on grand design lately? Or TT/5th wheel brands?

Hi Betty. I personally feel that Grand Design struggled a lot to maintain quality during the Covid pandemic years like many other RV manufacturers. But it seems to me that GD has been unfairly singled out for more than their fair share of criticism in recent years, perhaps because they had such a great reputation for both quality products and customer service going into the pandemic and it was a big surprise when they didn't live up to that reputation when Covid began. But I have personally inspected dozens of new GD products in the last coupe of months and I found that their quality level has risen dramatically again and I would have no hesitation in recommending them to new RV buyers at this point. Of course, I realize that saying this is counter to all of the prevailing negativity that is easily found online in social media, but my conclusions are not based on what I have heard someone else say. They are based instead on what I have seen for myself.

Hi Larry. Yes, greed is rampant through lots of companies and industries these days. And the RV industry is no different. But the problems I lay out in this video are mainly the result of an industry that is being forced to mature very quickly and is not going about it in an organized and thoughtful way. That's why the whole industry must change, not just part of it.

We were three months out of our Newmar warranty on our 2023 Dutch Star ⭐️-our electrical system blew up internally-$15,000 in repairs-Newmar told us to go pound sand -No customer service whatever-This DS has been a real lemon from the beginning-many many things wrong-This rig is almost literally REBUILT-I will never recommend Newmar ever -This DS is a real piece of junk 😡

Sorry to hear about your poor experience with Newmar Mary. The vast majority of Newmar owners are very happy with their RV.

Most more budget campers are a piece of junk. I have had s 1805rb Coleman now a 24rlxl wildwood. They are just slapped together using caulking for the roofs that last maybe 2 yrs. If your not handy with mantinance don't buy. Because if you have it done expect to open your wallet. One more thing I don't know about the rest but Campers World sucks for service. By private for a good deal.
