Getting a lot of Ernest Rossi vibes! State... shifting states... flexibility... shifting state-dependent memory, learning, and behaviour... shifting the components of the system... experiential empathy... heh. Very good. Thank you for sharing :)

I was trained under Dolores Cannon to become a hypnotist and do past life exploration. I am a certified Gestalt therapist and with a great fascination for Erickson (thank you!) Edgar Cayce and also Carl Jung. Thank you for these lectures. Greatly appreciate these videos. I have seen amazing results with hypnosis as an adjunctive therapy to Gestalt. Gestalt exists due to Fritz not forgiving Freud for not giving him enough attention in therapy. I believe it was Claudio Naranjo that was present for much of what occurred with Fritz and Freud. Out of that, Fritz Perls decided to go contra Freud and provided Psychosynthesis. Somewhat like Assagioli. I say to my students in grad school going for a career in mental health counseling that they cannot go wrong with also Ram Dass’ solution: JUST BE. BE YOURSELF through authentic connection with the client. Thank you very much Dr. Zeig. Hypnosis is coming back!!! Fierce!! And much like Dolores believed, I am in accord, it ought to be done IN PERSON. There is much misinformation about hypnosis. I often have to start with gestalt therapy and Jungian psychoanalysis before I can do the hypnosis. Some need to get their emotional weight off before hypnosis for weight loss--Clients need to know that they become more attentive in hypnosis and are fully in control.

this guy gets my endorsement from the moment he talks about emotions as involving approach and withdrawal behaviours.

Damien is great, I hope he further continues his motion from em-pathetic to em-Path-I-C. I also love Jeff's subconscious hand movements when describing in his view separate worlds of phenomenalogical and scientific, it all goes through the heart. I feel glad that the quality of video is so good as well.

Pavel Sidakov My friend, Dr. Zeig has studied non-verbal communication extensively for many, many years. Namely, for one, what can be communicated by the body in conjunction with or paradoxical to the verbal messages being given. He even states that in the presentation. 30:28 I don't think his hand movements are as subconscious as you think. To be more specific, at one time, they were consciously developed with intent; now they are automatic. Perhaps this seems to be a contradiction on my part, but I believe they are not truly subconscious. Those of us who have dipped so deeply into the so-called subconscious operate from that ... state. This is the proper use of the word magic, by the way. His entire presentation can be summed up in this succinct statement: Effective blending of the Matrix and Potentiator of the Mind (through Mastery of the presented Catalysts) leads to the Significance of the Mind, who has the tool of Transformation as his peak experience; this leading to a Chariot-like, exalted Way of Being which is the very heart of Creation.

Too bad they're such elitists, though. A lecture or workshop should not be closed to anyone who doesn't have a PhD or is a licensed practitioner.

@Bez Nervoze Why would a PhD be a good way to filter out people with bad intentions?
@matero30
@matero30 2 жыл бұрын
@By Wisdom & Tarot The information which would appeal the most to people with abusive intentions doesn't tend to be offered by clinicians. One would need to do a lot of reverse engineering to take what's taught here and in clinical manuals and use it to harm anyone. On the other hand, someone looking for that could easily find it anyway, and for free. It's a good thing they probably wouldn't have the skill set to effectively pull anything off. But since these lectures are available to the public, and anyone can buy all of the books by and about Dr. Erickson, his cases and methods, I still don't see how it helps anyone to keep events limited to licensed mental health professionals. In the unlikely and rare case of someone being able to use hypnosis abusively, we already have ways to hold them accountable, degree holder or otherwise.

Quite a few thoughts being shared here about the whys of closing the lecture but did Boone consider the possibility that the good Dr might have just wanted to enjoy the freedom of speaking to an audience populated by those that understand the content at a certain level?
