No hijacking until that point had ever been a suicide mission, so I doubt he was thinking they were going to crash it. The only passengers that knew they were going to die were the people on flight 93 and that is only because their flight was delayed taking off, and the people on the plane had relatives tell them about the WTC and the Pentagon when the passengers called to say they were hijacked.

Remember though he was also in the military which doesn’t mean any military member would be that calm but he flew jets it looks like so he probably has those jitters out his system. After the first 2 times I was shot at and mortared I became at peace with the fact that if it’s my time it’s my time and although every time after my adrenaline was rushing really high I would always think I wonder if the conversation I last had with my family would be enough. Not frantic but a talk with myself basically as I’m shooting and getting bullets returned at me. Maybe he was super religious and believed where he’s going was even better and he’d see her again. Or maybe he wanted to be strong since he knew she’d hear the message and frantic and rambling then dying is just too many blows to a person so he might have calmed himself before the call

A girl in the other airplane was trapped in one of the towers ( I think was Candida Doi) left a message very clear as well for her mother, the airplane was burning 2 floor below and she was in such a heat, even in that situation spell her mother last name and told the operator you are the best mother one can have, was very sad.

It shocked most of us that the US was so easy to attack in such a brazen way, but I can't say I was surprised that it happened. Some examples: the rumors that leaked out the Eiffel Tower was going to be hit in the 90s, I think it was. In the mid-90s there was a plot foiled involving many hijacked planes to be blown up. Then in the run-up to the Y2K celebrations there were leaks of the same sort of plot being planned. The 1993 attack on the WTC as well as the 1998 attack on the Cole meant that terrorism was a real threat to the US and wasn't kept hidden from citizens in security briefings reports. There were in fact contemporaneous news reports about all this, you just had to know where to look. Oh, and all of the thrillers that were written... if that man was in tune with pop culture or a voracious newspaper reader, he likely had an inkling.

Felt I needed to respond to your post. Jesus Christ told us all about the reality of both hell and heaven in great details. But most importantly, He told us that in order to get to heaven, we must become 'born again'. (see John 3:3) Other passages in the Bible explain what this means - it means that a person must first repent (turn away from the old sinful ways of living), and make a commitment to Jesus. Second, upon doing this, they need to have the Lord completely change their heart and way of thinking - this is what is referred to as 'born again.' Salvation is a free gift to anyone who asks for it - but they have to be willing to repent and acknowledge they can only get to heaven through Jesus (See John 14:6) Feel free to ask me any questions you may have about this.

It probably is not. There is no evidence for it. And I myself am very glad for it. Imagine dying and being conscious of your death and how everybody you ever loved is moving on without you and you have to experience that? In my opinion that is extremely cruel. People only think about being reunited with their loved ones but the excruciating torture of being ripped away to the next chapter is greatly underestimated I think. It’s what nightmares are made of. Please go and live life like it’s the only you know you’ll have. Knowing that it is temporary makes every moment count. It makes every little thing more special. And there is a certain comfort in knowing you don’t always have to exist. There comes a point when your work is done, and it’s time for others to take over. I don’t want to upset anyone by writing this. I just think the claims made by religion are potentially more harmful than helpful. Live nice lives everybody. And once in a while be amazed by people doing extraordinary things like Brian Sweeney.

However, the Bible is clear that the things we see are temporary, while the things we cannot see are eternal (i.e. heaven and hell). When it comes to questions about the afterlife, we should pay attention to all that Jesus had to say about it. Given his track record of being 100% truthful, we should believe what he says about these matters. He has proven Himself to be credible in all things.

I always hated the idea of an afterlife ... imagine loosing your wife ... and you move on ... marry her sister, and then in the end ....you'll have to come with a good explanation in the afterlife when seeing your first wife back ... seems more like a nightmare to me.

On the flip side, the Bible does make reference to being both able to recognize people we know, as well as being able to recognize people we never met from different time periods. (i.e.) In Matthew 17, Peter was supernaturally able to recognize Moses and Elijah when they appeared while Jesus was transfigured before them. Moses and Elijah didn't live in the same time period as Peter, nor did they live in the same time period with one another. So to me, the thought of being able to worship the Lord with other Christians from other time periods, other locations, as well as with our former spouses / friends, is an exciting possibility that I look forward to.
