I’m 76 years old. I have been a student/practitioner of Zen Buddhism since 1985. I was attracted to Zen because it is non theistic and its lack of dogma. I have not practiced with a sangha since the early 2000s but I have maintained a strong daily meditation practice. Along with meditation and mantra, I observe the 4 Noble Truths 5 Precepts, and the Buddhist 8 Fold Path; this practice has helped me to confront my fears and continue to overcome my egotistical insecurities. I am grateful to all of my teachers and fellow students who have guided me along this path. Will continue to subscribe to your KZfaq channel. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.🙏☮️☯️

As a seeker of truth and not a seeker of blind belief I have always ben drawn to the teachings of Siddhartha Gautama, the Buddha. The Buddha understood human nature and saw clearly how the mind shapes how we interpret experiences, each other and the world we live in. He clearly saw what is known as the 4 Noble truths. Great Video, Matt! ♥

Buddhism states all life is suffering regardless of what time we’re in. The very impermanence of peace or happiness in this reality is the problem and thus to think Buddhism is applicable to a specific epoch defeats the idea of escaping samsara as you’re just using it for a material worldly fix.

let me explain something everyone. Buddha is not just awaken one. He is the one who finds the awaken path and teaches us. any of us can be awaken ( attain Nirwana ) by learning the teaching of Buddha and then we attain Nirwana and we will become Rahath ( the ones who stopped rebirth ). Sidhartha Gauthama is most famous Buddha its because he the Buddha of our Era. for every era called Kalpa ( It's very long period of time according to google 4.32 billion years ) For one era there will be only one Buddha. and his Dharma will last for that Time period and Every and each Buddha's teaching are same. last but not the least not just in Mahayana also in Theravada how to become a Buddha ( Bodhisathwa path ) is describes but it takes several Kalpa just to prepare by doing good deeds including giving your life to save someone ( just mentioning it goes so deeper than that )

Thank you for sharing such an insightful and detailed explanation about the Buddha and the path to awakening! Your passion for the teachings and the clarity with which you've explained the concepts of Kalpa, Nirvana, and the role of a Rahath truly enrich our community's understanding. It's fascinating to discuss the profound journey towards becoming a Buddha, spanning multiple kalpas, and the immense dedication it involves. Your mention of the Bodhisattva path in both Mahayana and Theravada traditions adds a great depth to the conversation, reminding us all of the commitment required in the pursuit of enlightenment. We’re lucky to have such knowledgeable members in our community. Looking forward to more enriching discussions! Best, Matt

Please don't infuse unscientific things in buddhism. What difference will be left in other wrong paths and buddhism in this scientific era then? We all know there were no humans 4. 32 billion years ago. This concept of kalpa is not Buddhist. Namo Buddhaye☸️

Nice video presentation of the Buddhas journey. It is a general summary. I suggest the producer could add a little more information and enumeration plus explanation on the 6 perfections of Mahayana Buddhism, the Madhyamaka “middle way philosophy, the 4 noble truths and the Eightfold path. Thank you for making the presentation. I hope more youngsters could see it and get motivated to search more information, buy books and visit a sangha, a Buddhist Temple or Buddhist Center.

According to the Buddha Being born as a Human is very rare opportunity to study the dharma and practice it to be free from mundane life of suffering Animal realm , ghost realm, hell realm, has so many suffering and can't practice what the Buddha taught And in heaven realm, it's too much pleasure, and it can develop attachment and living beings live their become delusional because they think it's permanent But humans just in middle path, like thanos said balance as thing as should be, just enough suffering to realize how worse is life is, and just enough right pleasure to practice the dharma And be liberated from suffering of existence Human realm is neither so pleasurable that there’s no motivation to seek liberation, like the higher realms, nor too full of suffering to attempt to escape samsara, like the lower realms. A human birth is said to be so rare and precious that a turtle surfacing in a vast ocean is more likely to put his head through a small ring floating on the surface than we are to get a human birth. This is why the Buddha urges us to put our human life to good use! What do you think?

Dharma is very complex to understand to the human mind. There are 4 states to achieve unattachment. That's why Dharmaya is not spread out in the world nowadays. Less people who are born here with Wisdom and great Knowledge. Sir Einstein had knowledge but not wisdom... 2 different things

Hi brother your story is completely wrong. This is a fake story to undermine the buddhaand bind buddha with in the regular hinduism cage. At the age 29 Siddhartha was a well matured man, he got lot of knowledge and exposure about world, he is trained fighter. He left kingdom in order to stop a war between 2 kingdoms. Before he leave the kingdom the message he passed was "yes dammo sanatano" in the context of "war produces only war and peace only produces peace. this is the sanatana damma" Pls do recheck the facts and correct it. Thanks in advance

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective and insights. It’s important to recognize that there are various interpretations and versions of Siddhartha Gautama's life story, including what is commonly referred to as the "Great Renunciation." This is the widely known narrative where Siddhartha, moved by the suffering he witnessed, leaves his royal life to seek enlightenment and ultimately discovers the path to ending suffering. Your mention of Siddhartha’s motives for leaving the kingdom to prevent a war and his emphasis on peace provides an intriguing alternative view that enriches our understanding of his teachings. We appreciate this addition because it highlights the depth of Siddhartha's character and his early commitment to the principles of peace, which aligns with his later teachings. We aim to explore these various facets in our content to present a well-rounded view, and your contributions are vital in helping us all deepen our understanding. Thank you again for engaging with our content and helping us expand our perspectives. Best regards, Matt
