Nope, he was quite ready to submit to fate: Whoe'er yields properly to Fate is deemed Wise among men, and knows the laws of Heaven. (From Euripides' Fragments, 965) In Buddhism, Lord Buddha taught us karmic cultivation and how to take out the weeds and plant the good seeds. Nothing like Lord Buddha’s teachings. We don’t sit there taking the abuse of the fruits of our ignorance but we try to overcome it through intensifying our practice of the law. When a true Buddhist says “all formations are subject to impermanence” the gods in heavens tremble in fear! It breaks apart all formations. Buddhism isn’t mere philosophy, it is THE LAW.

I appreciate and commend this video, so nicely illustrated. As a Hindu Indian-American, I can't help but comment: 1. I have often wondered why Buddhism disappeared in India. We tend to completely forget how a Turk Muslim general went with his army into Nalanda the great Buddhist university and destroyed it. The hapless monks there were slaughtered. I suspect that Buddhists felt that Hindus across the subcontinent would never protect them against the marauding Muslims so decided to go elsewhere. It is easy to see why the Buddhists in Myanmar as so paranoid about Muslim Rohingyas. 2. Why does the Dalai Lama need a picture of Avalokiteshvara in his living quarters? Perhaps it is to constantly remind himself to be the like the deity, an embodiment of compassion, the Avalokiteshvara? 3. The Buddha would ridicule Brahmins as being misguided, and rejected the Brahminic sacrificial practices. Ironically, even the Hindu Upanishads had taught the same, against relying on rituals. One Upanishad stated (I forget which one): "Verily, these rituals are unsafe boats. They will not take you to the farthest shore." The bottom line is that the goal is to become a Buddha and not a Buddhist. To be limited to Buddhism will not take you to the farthest shore either! 4. And oh, the name is Gauthama (the tham is as in 'thumb' and not Gau-taa-ma. British transliteration leaves a lot to be desired. The letter T as in 'time' does not exist in Sanskrit/Pali. The British transliterated "Th" as just "T." 5. The phrase "Go" or "Gau" refers to the sacred cow. The Hindu deity Krishna is often referred to with names using a "Go" prefix such as Govinda. I have read that Go also means "light," while "thama" (not thaama) refers to darkness. So Go-thama refers to a being who dispels the darkness with light.

1. Faith that the universe is on your side. 2. Patience. 3. Diligence. Diligence refers to careful and persistent work or effort. It involves a steady, earnest, and conscientious application to a task or duty, often characterized by thoroughness, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic. Diligent individuals are typically reliable, meticulous, and committed to achieving their goals with persistence and attention to quality.

You may think Nepal is a part of India but you’re wrong, Nepal has always been a separate independent nation so the Nepalese get offended when people acknowledge them as Indian or Nepal as India.

I really liked this video... It covered many of the "bugaboos" I've encountered over the years... There is also the difference between "Buddhism" and the simple teaching taught by the Buddha himself, along with many PESKY mistranslations that make the MESSAGES seem way more "mystically obscure" than they are... (another video?) But the core teachings are still intact. Buddha urged his students to speak plainly in the (local) languages that average people could understand, steering away from the elitism that Brahmins of his time were cultivating.

Thank you for your thoughtful feedback on the video! We're glad it resonated with you and addressed some of the misconceptions you've encountered about Buddhism. You're absolutely right about the distinction between the broader practices categorized under "Buddhism" and the original teachings of the Buddha himself. This is an important nuance that often gets lost. The issue of mistranslations and the potential mystification of Buddha’s teachings is indeed a compelling topic. It’s something that could certainly merit its own video to help clarify and demystify the core messages. We appreciate you suggesting it, and we’ll definitely consider creating a dedicated video to explore these "pesky mistranslations" and how they impact the understanding of Buddhism. Buddha's emphasis on using the local languages to make his teachings accessible reflects his intent to make the path to enlightenment available to all, rather than reserved for a select few. This is a core principle that remains deeply relevant. Thank you once again for your insightful comment and for contributing to a deeper understanding of Buddhism. Keep an eye out for future content, and please continue to share your thoughts and questions with us! Matt

✅️THE GOSPEL OF THE WORD OF ALMIGHTY GOD "the Salvation of the last day that Christ brought in the second and last incarnation of the His new and holy name" (Behavior that cannot fully obey Me is betrayal. Behavior that cannot be loyal to Me is betrayal. Having many understandings and spreading them everywhere is betrayal. The inability to affirm My testimonies and interests is betrayal. These are all acts of betrayal that you have always been able to do, and they are common to you as well. None of you may think this is a problem, but I don't think so. You think that some act of treachery is only an occasional occurrence, not your characteristic behavior, and should not be discussed so seriously, in a way that damages your pride. To think like this is to be an example and example of rebellion. Man's nature is his life; it was a principle on which he depended to stay alive, and he could not change it. This is also the nature of betrayal---if you can do something to betray a relative or friend, it proves that it is part of your life and you were born with this nature. For example, if a person enjoys stealing from others, this "joy of stealing" is part of their life, although they may steal sometimes and not steal sometimes. Whether they steal or not, it cannot prove that their stealing is just a form of behavior. Rather, it proves that their thieving is a part of their life--that is, their nature. This is why I say that the source of this thought is not something that just breaks out from time to time, but is in this person's own nature.) Almighty God said BEHAVIOR that CANNOT FULLY OBEY Me is BETRAYAL. BEHAVIOR that CANNOT be FAITHFUL to Me is BETRAYAL. CHEATING on Me and USING LIES to DECEIVE Me is BETRAYAL. HAVING MANY UNDERSTANDINGS and SPREADING them EVERYWHERE is TREASON. The INABILITY to AFFIRM My TESTIMONIES and INTERESTS is BETRAYAL. OFFERING FALSE SMILES when the HEART is FAR from Me is BETRAYAL. These are ALL ACTS of BETRAYAL that YOU have ALWAYS been ABLE to DO, and they are COMMON to you as well. ☀️🙏 NONE of YOU may THINK this is a PROBLEM, BUT I DON'T THINK SO. I CANNOT TREAT SOMEONE'S BETRAYAL of Me as a SMALL MATTER, and I ESPECIALLY cannot ignore it. 🛑 Now, when I work among you, you act in this way---if the day comes when no one is there to watch over you, will you not be like bandits who have declared themselves kings? When that happens and you cause a major disaster, who will be there to fix the problem? You THINK that some ACT of TREACHERY is ONLY an OCCASIONAL OCCURRENCE, NOT your CHARACTERISTIC BEHAVIOR, and should NOT be DISCUSSED so SERIOUSLY, in a way that DAMAGES your PRIDE. If you really think like this, you lack common sense. To think like this is to be an example and example of rebellion. MAN'S NATURE is his LIFE; it is a PRINCIPLE on which he DEPENDS to STAY ALIVE, and he CANNOT CHANGE it. THIS is ALSO the NATURE of BETRAYAL--if YOU CAN DO SOMETHING to BETRAY a RELATIVE or FRIEND, it PROVES that it is a PART of your LIFE and you were BORN with THIS NATURE. 🛑 😪 THIS is SOMETHING that CANNOT be DENIED to ANYONE. For EXAMPLE, if a PERSON ENJOYS STEALING from OTHERS, this "pleasure to steal" is PART of THEIR LIFE, although they may steal sometimes and not steal sometimes. WHETHER they STEAL or NOT, it CANNOT PROVE that their STEALING is JUST a FORM of BEHAVIOR. Rather, it PROVES that their THIEVING is a PART of THEIR LIFE--that is, their NATURE. 🛑 Some people will ask: Since this is their nature, then why, when they see beautiful things, don't they sometimes steal them? The answer is very simple. There are many reasons why they don't steal. They may not steal something because it is too big to snatch from watchful eyes, or because there is no suitable time to act, or something is too expensive, too closely guarded, or maybe they are not particularly interested here, or notthey see how it will be of use to them, and so on. All of these reasons are possible. But anyway, whether they steal something or not, it cannot prove that this thought only exists as a fleeting and fleeting moment. On the contrary, it is a part of their nature that is difficult to change for the better. Such a person is not satisfied with stealing only once; such attitudes to claim other people's possessions as their own are formed whenever they encounter something beautiful, or a suitable situation. ☀️ This is the REASON WHY I SAY that the SOURCE of this THOUGHT is NOT a THING that just CUT off SOMETIMES, but is in this PERSON'S own NATURE. 🙏 From The WORD, Vol. I. The Manifestation and Work of God. A Very Serious Problem: Infidelity 1 📩 All who have "ears to listen" are led to what the Spirit of God is saying in His lowered and built kingdom/Church engraved with His new name, His totality, the ownership of this disposition, "THE CHURCH OF ALMIGHTY GOD "💐 fulfillment from what was said He to Peter 2,000 years ago recorded in (Matthew 16:18-19). His Coming is the fulfillment of all that was prophesied in the great book of Revelation, so the last "Salvation" He brought the whole truth, the way for eternal life. So the "victorious" ones who will receive them are the wise "virgins" because as recorded in the prophecy of His return no one knows it except the one who will receive it! So "come" and come to His kingdom/church standing in the holy place in the air/KZfaq! This is also a fulfillment from the book of (Isaiah 2:2/9:6) which He first fulfilled in His first incarnation. 📥 "They say with a loud voice, "Salvation comes from the Lamb, and from our God who sits on the Throne!" (Rev. 7:10). ... and (Isaiah 2: 2 / 9:6) "On the Last Day, the mountain on which Jehovah's temple stands will stand out above all the mountains. All nations will flock there. " . "For a baby boy is born to us. The rule will be given to him; and he shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Almighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." 💌

Budhism like Jainisim, and like similar religions as theirs. Believe in one and most important truth : Deeds are of higher priority. For example I believe in Bhagwaans, I met Bhagwaan, and if I Hurt,harm,grief and cause loss to an innocent does that make me dear to Bhagwaans? Does it save me from anger of Bhagwaans? Can it save me against my own deeds? Same is true with God. Adam and Eve were cursed, they were told only one thing never to do. Nor they spoke to God about their experience with serpent and ate what was forbidden. Moses who was given longest list of commandments live upto every single commandment. Who was dear to God? How you live, and if you live upto what you should for the love you have for God or Allah you may know Him if born in faith with Quran. Or Bhagwaans. Deeds are of higher imoortance. Deeds makes you dearest to God-Allah, Bhagwaans. Deeds makes you undear to the one you believe in. Deeds were the reason God, chose to create heaven and hell to seperate the two kinds of people. Deeds of right, and your love and longing is true for the one you worship, you will become dearest of the one you worship. You get nothing less than kindness, love , mercy, favours from God. With wrong doings against others, you get anger, wrath, hell and punishments from God. Deeds are of higher imoortance that makes live for God meaningful. You shall be judged not by your love for God, but by your deeds. Brother of Adam's son too lives God, but he had wrong habits, jealousy, and many other mistakes. Yet God chose offerings from his elder brother. Love if same yet differentiates them. Then he thought, if God does not accept my offering, if I kill him , then I will be the only remaining son of Adam and then God will accept my offerings. He killed his brother, and got cursed by God instead. Live for God, teaches to seek guidance why God did not accept my offerings and to self correct. It cannot teach to be wicked and kill, thinking then Ias only son God will have no other choice but to accept my offering. You cannot force God to have have the option you choose. Love for God is innocense. Wickedness cannot get God's love. And live for God are or many kinds. True love, will make you life just life, seek guidance to live in ocent life. Love, will teach you worship is not that important live as you want you will get forgivness whenever you want. With greed, profit at the cost of loss against any cannot be love for God. May I not be in loss, may you not be in loss. A just way of living is love towards God. Hence, Raavan had met Shivji a Bhagwaan of Hindu religion. Had got many blessings too. Ram too worshipped Shivji and defeated Raavan. It does not matter if you live and have faith. What matters is what is your meaning of live for God-Allah, Bhagwaans. It is determined by two things. 1. Your longing to worship to exoerience one you worship. 2. You way of living if in ocent and involves well being of others. Combined together is your meaning of love for the one you believe in.

Thanks for clarifying, this is Enlightening and I totally resonate with it. I have encountered many self-serving individuals who call themselves 'Buddhists'. They worship Buddhas like God. And their way of cultivation is going to temples to pray for their wishes to be granted or solve a financial problem. They think 'Cultivation" is only for retired older people, and not for those who have work and commitment. How sad is their concept! For them, their 'bad Karma' stems from bad luck and they have no role in it. One of them even told me it is after all a 'blind faith'. Please do more videos, I rarely have a chance to hear the correct Way of Cultivation anymore. I pray that the image of Buddhism will not be ruined by these people.

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and experiences. It’s really enlightening to hear from viewers who are reflecting deeply on how Buddhism is practiced and perceived by different people. We’re glad that our video provided some clarity and resonated with your understanding. It’s unfortunate that some individuals may have a superficial or misguided understanding of what Buddhist practice entails. Buddhism, in its essence, encourages a path of wisdom, ethical living, and mindfulness, applicable to people of all ages and walks of life, not just something to be turned to in later years or used merely as a means to fulfill personal desires. Your comments highlight the importance of educating more people about the true principles of Buddhist cultivation-how actions (karma) are directly related to consequences and how true practice involves personal responsibility and introspection rather than attributing outcomes to mere luck or seeking external divine intervention. We appreciate your encouragement to produce more content that explores and clarifies these aspects. We’re committed to sharing authentic and meaningful insights into Buddhism that can help dispel misconceptions and encourage a more profound and personal engagement with the teachings. Thank you again for your support and for advocating a purer understanding of Buddhism. We hope to continue being a resource for you and many others seeking the correct way of cultivation. Matt

If these so called dieties are called advanced beings, does it mean they might be beings from different dimensions or something?
@BuddhasWizdom
@BuddhasWizdom 3 күн бұрын
Thank you for your interesting question! In Buddhism, the term "deities" or "advanced beings" often refers to entities who inhabit different realms of existence within the cosmological structure described by Buddhist teachings. These beings are considered to have reached higher states of consciousness and power through their spiritual practices and karmic accumulation. The concept of different dimensions isn't explicitly described in traditional Buddhist texts in the way modern science fiction might portray them, but it can be a useful metaphor to understand these teachings. Buddhist cosmology does indeed describe multiple realms or planes of existence that are not ordinarily perceivable to us in our human condition. These realms are often depicted as being part of the cycle of Samsara (the cycle of rebirth: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mZ2Idryhtam5eWQ.html), and beings within them experience life differently from humans, both in terms of time and the nature of their existence. These beings, whether they are considered gods or other types of spiritual entities, are still seen as being within the cycle of birth and rebirth-subject to the same ultimate goal of attaining enlightenment and liberation from Samsara. They are not omniscient or omnipotent and are still working through their own paths to enlightenment. This is a fascinating area of Buddhist philosophy that raises deep questions about the nature of reality and existence. We appreciate your curiosity and hope this response helps clarify your understanding a bit more. Matt & Peter

Even though the Buddha did not say that it is mandatory to be vegetarian his teachings all points to developing compassion for all sentient beings. Then it is only natural that after having cultivated his teachings, in wisdom and compassion, being vegetarian is the most sensible to be. The precept of no killing is not violated. A modern-day Bodhisattva once said that if the whole world becomes vegetarian it will be end to sickness, natural disasters, wars, pandemics, wrong views and there will be peace in the world.

Thank you for sharing your reflections on the ethics of food, a topic that indeed presents many challenges in today’s complex world. You’re absolutely right-navigating the ethics of our industrial food supply isn’t straightforward, and your commitment to minimizing harm is commendable. In Buddhism, the principle of non-harming (Ahimsa) is central, but how it's applied can vary greatly depending on individual circumstances, cultural contexts, and available choices. The essence of this principle is the intention behind our actions-aiming to cause the least harm possible to other sentient beings. Utilizing fishing and hunting as means to reduce your carbon footprint, highlights a thoughtful engagement with these principles, balancing ecological concerns with direct harm to animals. It’s a nuanced stance that recognizes the broader impacts of our food choices, such as the environmental cost of transportation and large-scale agricultural practices. In Buddhist practice, mindfulness and awareness of the consequences of our actions are encouraged. This means continually reflecting on our choices, seeking information, and being willing to adjust our behaviors as we learn and grow in understanding. It might also involve advocating for or supporting food systems that align better with ethical values. Ethics in food consumption is indeed complex, and there are rarely perfect answers. However, your thoughtful approach and willingness to engage with these difficulties are themselves expressions of the compassion and mindfulness at the heart of Buddhist teachings.
