Wasn't their mission to take down project starfish and get the drive? Starro was dragged into this by American astronauts. Would make more sense he's just lashing out at everybody after 30 years in trapped.

Yeah I agree. Could easily believe that flag and peacemaker gets crushed by the building when staro comes out of the ground

I would use flag to fight Harley with boomer. She really likes them (so happy flag was coming to save her) and it would be nice to see Harley truly feel something when lucid and maybe allude to her dilutions are a coping mechanism to deal with her trauma. So after her fight she's seen talking and joking around with their dead bodies like they are still alive and not understanding that their truly gone and blood sport gives her a hug. Then you still get the emotional death of flag earlier but you also get some great development for Harley as well as grieve for flag's death with her.

Those are pretty workable complaints, depending on the set-up. Like, I haven't been able to see the movie yet, but all that really needs for the first one is Starro gives them a pass, they explain they're being controlled by Waller, Starro makes some frustrated joke/line about at least his tormentors have learned SOMETHING by studying him for so long, apologizes to the squad, and "turns the weapons of his oppressors against themselves": boom, team 1 comes out newly Starro'ed, and the fight kicks off. And you can just have King Shark beat Peacemaker in a less permanent way. Get a third revisit to the peacemaker bomb bit , and have KS slam him onto a wall spike, or wedge him in a brick wall.

I honestly don't care for a Peacemaker specific movie. He's already getting a TV show. DC wants Will Smith to come back as Deadshot so he's more likely to get a solo movie.

@@cjtrules1 Will Smith can't play anything other than likable characters so if they try to make him a "rugged villain/anti-hero" that movie ain't going to work. Look at all his movies, Will Smith is just not that sort of actor. Bloodsport solo would make way more sense than Deadshot. as Idris Elba can play the part.

Starro literally asked them for help when they met him. He prolly sees them as like a benefactor; And only fought them when they attacked him.

The weirdest was Harley because she barely defended herself. She mainly just crouched and took like 2 of them off

@@plushiesdx Starro asked them for help and he was freed because of them; He let them off with a warning telling them that the city is his (He's basically throwing a huge tantrum due to the abuse he suffered).

But that's what Starro does. That's the point of the character.

If you're gonna have Starro, let him do his thing. It makes for interesting stories. If you're not gonna take advantage of Starro doing his thing, why have him and not someone else?

I can understand him wanting Starro used somewhere else to do more of what he did in the comics and some other giant creature be utilized here. That is a valid criticism and I have had that kind of criticism before too. But yes, the Starro zombie SS members idea, however, just wouldn't really do anything for the story and would just be there for some cheap shock value. The point of that final act against Starro is to show the culmination of the teams changing dynamic throughout the film; the team unifying and to communicate the movie's central theme of finding purpose; purpose for the purposeless, for those who lost it, for those who needed it, etc. Having each member fight separate battles against multiple opponents, in a way, disservices that theme by keeping them from fighting as a unit and just takes that whole final act In a different direction altogether and it's not what James wanted to communicate.

I would only really like the rewrite if they didn't still have a giant monster to deal with and it was handled more comedically.

Yup. You're absolutely right. Its a change for the worse. Nando even points out how the interesting aspect of comic fights involving Staro, is that the hero's friends are captured. And the heroes don't want to hurt them. But this edit misses that entirely. The "friends" are already dead, and the movie has already told us that they were expendable. So there's no emotional weigh to making the two squads fight. And, not only is squad 1 expendable, they're also shown to be kinda incompetent. So the audience's initial reaction would be, "oh, these looser again". And then, if Staro-Squad 1 is shown to actually be a threat, it calls into question the first scene. Leading people to wonder, "why did they loose earlier, if they're so dangers now?" But its important to point out, I release exactly zero movie critiques. And its not my place to go criticizing somebody who does. Keep doing what you do Nando.

Most people love this show, and rank it just under *"Batman:TAS"* , and a little above both *"The Batman"* and *"Batman: The Brave and the Bold"* , two shows that are also very highly rated. I suspect that most people who use the word "underrated" on the internet don't understand what it means.

I know they like John Cena, but DC is big on legacy characters (even Charlton Comics was) so why not Peacemaker II to star in the show - or have it be a prequel show?

Boomerang's death tells the audience right off the bat that anyone can die. He was beloved in the first, but that doesn't save him.

They could have kicked a severed head try to time it, could make a gag with the timing with the first one exploding too soon and having ro get another team member head.

I think it would still work. The reveal happens after the fight between Flag and Peacemaker so it doesn't ruin the moment, and even afterwards Bloodsport still has a bomb in his head and gets away with it, and also Flag may not know about the bomb in his own head so it's still within character for him not consider that. Also, I didn't think Peacemaker had the secondary objective, I think he was just committed to the mission and protecting the US, it seemed to me that he just went out of his way to ensure the mission was completed, above and beyond out of his own volition.

Flag didn't have a bomb in his head, he was the only one in this film that was actually a "hero" if we consider he was already established in Suicide Squad

@@tuffdude7795 i really dont see how she couldve died in the movie because that moment of her and her father talking about the rats was too beautiful to not be in the movie but her death wouldve prob happened tbe second bloodsport landed on the same level as her and peacemaker with him seeing her die. idk tho im just happy with how it turned out

@@user-nv9vn8fm1d Yeah defeats the purpose of the first group. It was meant to show they were expendable and James wasn't afraid to kill off characters. To bring them back later even in dead form defeats this purpose and makes it more like other superhero movies. I like Rick Flag's death and Peacemaker seeming to die until the end. This ruins those as well. Also Weasel is awesome and I liked having him alive at the end.

Pretty much all of Team 2 made it to the final act so I feel like it made up for the beginning bloodbath. Tho what did feel like a waste to me was Boomer, but then again he died with a smile and it was beautiful. 😌

@@ShinyMon321 Yeah boomer was happy-sad. I dunno, personally I feel it would have been cooler for the local military to capture a couple of them just to get knocked off throughout the film. Then again maybe that would have removed the tension that builds all the way to peacemaker and rick flags fight of "Ooooo when is another one going to die?!"
