@nikolaradovanovic62463 жыл бұрын
@@fugopannacotta4574 everything remains the same. Except for the fact that Pucci never existed (his soul was destroyed together with Pucciverse, and MiH releases the souls of those that it killed and allowing them to go back to the orignal universe that is now overwritten because pucci failed to destroy it and make his own universe). Every part before part 6 remains the same. However, due to the lack of Pucci's prescence in the original overwritten universe, Jotaro and Irene (previously Jolyne) have a far better relationship because Jotaro no longer needs to chase after Dio's remaining minions (aka Pucci). Also, MiH can't erase or change history of a universe, therefore even if Pucciverse survived, Mista and GioGio would still be friends, Morioh defeated Kira, the Crusaders killed Dio, Joseph yeeted Kars into outer space and Jonathan bodyslammed Dio. Hope this helps.

@tinhornname41174 жыл бұрын
If anything, Stone Ocean’s apocalyptic ending kind of made JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure self containing. Giorno’s everlasting victory will always and forever be intact, Morioh Cho will never have turmoil, Jotaro’s victory against the physical form of DIO will remain, Kars will forever remain banished, JoJo’s sacrifice on that boat, allowing Erina to escape with George Joestar II and Lisa Lisa, allowing this Bizarre Adventure to continue onwards. All of it is now concrete, set in stone, Everlasting.
@themightypancake56954 жыл бұрын
I think they all have better endings because in the universe reset, it’s like Pucci never existed. He died before anything became obsolete, so now he just doesn’t exist at all. Which in turn does make lives better for most of the cast. I’m sure it allowed Jotaro to spend more time with Irene (Jolyne) because Pucci might’ve been sending minions at him before he ever visited Jolyne in prison (but now that he doesn’t exist, there’s no way that could’ve happened). Without Pucci’s influence, Hermes’ sister wouldn’t have been murdered, and Weather Report wouldn’t have been attacked. That’s just the way I see it though. I’ve seen many explanations as to how we got the ending that occurred, and this is the best conclusion I can come to

There's almost no doubt in my mind that it was a deliberate choice on Araki's part to have Emporio, who falls into Weekly Shonen Jump's (and by extension pre-SBR JoJo's) target audience as the sole person with memories of the unaltered universe. @@lunausagi8495 I've heard many people say Vento Auero is "unfinished" and "rushed". And that GER was Deus Ex Machina (an event quickly made up just to push the story to an end). I obviously disagree. Through all the jurney Giorno was getting prepared by fate to obtain GER. People wrongly assume that the final battle began when Giorno pierced himself, thus in their eyes it finished immediately. For me, the final battle began all the way back when Doppio encountered Bucciarati outside the Coloseum. Everything after that was a chase with time and fate. The only thing I find "unfinished" might be what happened to Fugo, but we have the Purple Haze novel for that. The same was with Stone Ocean. The final battle didn't begin with Pucci obtaining MiH, but all the way back with the gang escaping the prison.

When you think about it, Foo Fighters was a microcosm of this. Her greatest fear was losing her intellect and, more specifically, her memories. She believed her memories were what was important, regardless of the way it ended, because that was a sign that she was truly alive with a purpose. And when Jolyne insists that she's going to bring Foo Fighters back by getting Pucci's disc, F.F. says "Yes, but it will be a different Foo Fighters. It won't be me" just the same as the universe will be saved, but it will be a different universe. But that's okay because what actually mattered was the memories and connections we made along the way. In canon, the universe was reset, but that story and those characters are still just as real to me, and in my heart it all happened. F.F. was preparing us for that lesson, the same way Abbacchio prepared us for the lesson that skipping to the result is never a good idea.

Tornike Tvalchrelidze Tornike Tvalchrelidze This is much more than good triumphing over evil. Pucci was a very nuanced villain in that he believed what he was doing was for the good of humanity, which one can make a legitimate case for. Was heaven worth reaching? A world in which all would know their fate would give humanity direction and peace of mind, at least that’s what Pucci believed. But this goes against what jojo stands for: Humanity can overcome their own destiny and face it despite not knowing the outcome. That is what makes humanity wonderful. That is what makes this a wonderful world

Tornike Tvalchrelidze I agree, Pucci had good intentions and was resolute in his goal to achieve heaven. one of the things i love about JoJo (among every other thing there is to love about it) is how their heores yearn and strive for a life where they don't NEED stands. For Jojo heores, a stand is a curse, not a blessing. Villains, on the other hand, use and abuse their stands to obtain and remain in power. Think of Dio using the world to obtain world domination, or Diavolo's use of KC to elude his persuers and intimidate his subjugates. On the other hand, even when Jotaro is fighting a serial killer, what he truly wants to do is write his fucking doctorate thesis, like a scientist actually would. After he is done fighting, Star Platinum is withdrawn. Same goes for every other Joestar. After they are done fighting, they want to live normal lives and persue their mundane goals. With Giorno being the clear exception (Dio's son, after all), every other protagonist yearns for the mundane. In that way, Jojo protagonists are really subersive. In that way, a mundane ending, with everyone living their ordinary, boring lives, is indeed the happiest they could strive to be.

This ending really just made me crave to see THEIR story; to see Jolyne (Irene) happy, to see her, Hermes, and F.F fooling around the way we couldn't because of their tense circumstances, and so on. I'd also love to see Anasui still being a stupid charming creep even without being quite as deranged (well, probably since hes not in prison for killing his gf here.) It really does have me conflicted on other levels though. We didn't get to see current Jolyne work past her family difficulties or grow from everything that had happened, and the other characters of the time have had their life stopped too. It's such a weird tragedy, as OP said, because obviously the characters who are now in this universe probably have a better life... but it's hard for it not to hurt because they aren't really who we know, despite not really being different.

This parts manga is the only one I entirely read trough in one day. Not to speedread trough it but because I couldn't put it down! It's one of my favourites and the ending was so hurtful and so beautiful at the same time. On the one hand, it really did feel like the entire part 1-6 was useless, the torture and death of Jonathan, Joseph and Jotaro suffering trough the losses of so many friends etc. etc. seemed for nothing. Later however came the realization that my life has gotten some form of light in these stories. They really touched me at my core. My mindset actually started changing, I've lost so much weight just because I want to cosplay some of these amazing characters.... my life has gotten so much better ever since I discovered this series a couple of years ago. Also parts 1-5 are most likely exactly the same in the Ireneverse. It seems that MiH didn't fully activate when pucci was defeated, so instead of making a new universe it just altered the current one so that pucci never existed. This is why the p6 gang are out of prison and why jolyne is named Irene, because there are no more of dios minions for them to naturally gravitate towards and defeat. The only changes by the end of part 6 basically amounts to the butterfly effect making things better, but bcus that chapter was so vague it kinda looked like Pucci won and everyone we knew and loved were virtually different people

I don't watch Takagi-san or yuru camp because I want to see the plot end, because there is literally no plot to end. I just watch them because they're cute and funny. In a sense, an endless story. The same can also be said for re-reading stories. Why read them again when you already know what will happen? Because I want to see that one funny scene where Narancia thinks Giorno's sucking Mista off, and all the other shenanigans too. At it's core, I read fiction because it will make me feel happy, whether it's a satisfying ending or a stupid song about pizza mozzarella doesn't matter to me.

( probably some spoilers here ) When I finished all the JoJo animated parts with Vento Aureo, of course I wanted more JoJo so I started reading Stone Ocean. Based on what I have previously heard of the part, I wasn't that hyped and just wanted to finish it so I could start the so well spoken Steel Ball Run. My journey through most of Stone Ocean was fun. There where some very boring moments, some very fun moments and very sad moments ( goddam i'll never look at plankton the same way ), but my brain still didn't give much value to the Part because I was only interested in the results. All of that changed in the last quarter of the story. Since they escaped the prison, I began to feel more excited than I ever was before in JoJo. All the stands from then were cool and interesting and some character backstories were heartbreaking. Pucci is now one of my favorite jojo villains. And then came the last few chapters. During the whole Made in Heaven arc I was so into the story and those characters that the ending made me burst in tears ( ok not that much but i was very touched ). Stone Ocean, more than any other part, made me appreciate this brilliant work of fiction, all of it, the boring moments, the great moments, the happy, the sad, the touching, all that JoJo made me feel during this experience that has been going since last year. Thank you, Stone Ocean.

i actually like stone oceans ending and think that its deaths were really potent(especially jolynes sacrifice and jotaro getting sliced like oingo boingo predicted 3 parts ago.) for some reason just seeing all their bodies disappear from the accelerated time really hit me with the message that the world of jojo we knew would be almost gone with nothing of its existance left if emporio didnt stand up to pucci who basically was a walking personification of dio's will and legacy trying to strike the jojos out of existence no matter what than a tragic human being during his chase. honestly if the david productions anime adaption were to add anything at all, i would want it to at least show the characters still alive from other parts (like joseph and shizuka, the morioh gang, and giornos group) in the new universe since during the accelaration rohan is mentioned using heavens door to keep up with made in heaven to finish his manga and giorno is mentioned to have been in florida during the part, as jotaro and jolynes group were reincarnated due to dying during the part and puccis death got rid of his and possibly some of dios impact on the parts as well. to me part 6 was a sendoff to the original universe for the foreseeable future and i feel like maybe a montage showing everyone who survived the previous parts living happily in the new universe while still main storywise knowing that jotaro and his daughter may be gone as we knew it but like his grandfather joseph managed to cheat being forever gone and still carrying their spirits in a better life. and while it is sad for emporio that his friends as he knew them are gone, there is nothing stopping him from having new bonds and possibly being adopted by jolyne's reincarnated group (since by dialogue and also possible implication of eoh's ending that jotaro becomes a more caring and attentive father.)

I wouldn't call stone ocean "fairly standard " or "doesn't differ much". I strongly disagree. EVERY jojo part is radically different from the last. Compare 5 to 6. Pucci is developed every fight while diavolo is stays in the shadows until the end. Giorno stays in the background and supports much more extroverted side characters. Jolyne is without a doubt the person who the story is about. GW ends with the mc gaining a ultimate power. SO ends with the main characters dying.

Wait, isn't the "Ireneverse" just the original universe, but without Pucci? From what i got, it wasn't a third universe. Pucci died before the reset was complete (He activate it at the space station, but died in the prison at the beginning of Part 6, so the cycle wasn't complete) and the Universe came back to its original place, only this time Pucci never existed, Dio had no follower, Jotaro was a much more present dad because there was no need to be absent from Jolyne/Irene's life. So the events of Part 1-5 all happened, minus Jotaro finding Pucci's diary, every Dio/Pucci interaction and the entirety of Part 6 of course.

@@puzzlewuzzle6687 You also have to take into account the fact that fate guides people together to accomplish certain tasks in the jojo universe. Without pucci there is no threat, fate doesn't need to force the gang to rise to the challenge of defeating him and they can just come together as they were meant to, but now peacefully. Pucci was the spirit of Dio's legacy and continued influence over the Joestar bloodline and those they were fated to encounter, and if he had been killed at the end of part six there almost certainly would have been a successor be it via direct influence of Pucci himself or some unforseen side effect of something he did. Jonathan had Dio, Jorge had one of his underlings, Joeseph had the repercussions of Dio's effect on his mother and Caeser(and later Dio), Jotaro also had Dio, Josuke had the stand arrrows spread by Dio and his underlings, Giorno's entire existence was because of Dio and he also had to face the stand arrows, and Jolyne of course had Dio's friend Pucci. The legacy continues and it doesn't end, it never ends, that is until Pucci is brought to another world and his soul is condemned there in a reality that never even fully came to be. Back in the first world Dio's legacy is gone, but the souls of Jolyne and company remain so they are reincarnated into lives now free of the curse that had plagued the Joestar bloodline for so many generations(except Holly for some reason). It doesn't make sense for the Ireneverse to be a third reality because the souls of our main cast were stuck in the first universe when they died and with made in heaven gone there wouldn't be a way to start another big bang or carry souls beyond their natural end. Think of the second universe as an additional layer built on top of the first, because that's what it is, the next one in the cycle but now with everyone bound to fate in such a way that forces them to move through life like machines going through their preprogrammed commands because their souls were forcefully pulled to the next world with the last cycle's end. With that universe never setting and coming undone everyone is then defaulted back to the previous layer which had still yet to be completely overwritten. Nowhere in any of this is there a third universe or even the means to create one. Regarding Foo Fighters, she was created as the result of Pucci himself giving something a stand. This act inherently brought conflict and destruction. Free of this Foo Fighters is probably still out there, but remains as a non-sentient mass of plankton unfortunately. I'm sure she'll encounter the gang at some point in one way or another, but it won't be in the same form or anything resembling it which is a damn shame, but it's for the best.

I don't even know how Araki would have continued writing Jojo stories in the OG universe without it becoming sort of boring and repetitive. I can't blame him for wanting to switch things up, AND he even tied up the events of the OG universe really nicely before moving on. That's really all we can ask for! We can consider the fact that our heroes died in the end as a loss, but ultimately, it was a win. In this new universe, they are no longer criminals with tragic pasts and people constantly trying to kill them (in the Kujos' case). They can start again and be happy this time :) I'm fine with that.

And even though it hurt to lose the characters, i'm glad that they got to live better lives. The only thing that i disliked was how many unawnsered questions were left. Like what changed in this universe? If Hermes is free from prison, Jolyne is in a better relationship with their family, their names are different. What changed in this universe? And what happened to the other JoJos and Jobros from the previous parts? I truly wish that they'll put some clips of the previous protagonists at the end of the anime. I think the main reason people are dissapointed with Stone Ocean is that , as a finale to the OG Jojo universe ,it had so many missed opportunities. The fact that we didn't get to see the Morioh crew , Passione and Joseph one last time in an epic fight or at least in a final farewell pissed a lot of people off And I kinda get it. But I also understand what Araki was going for with Stone Ocean. He was not just using it as a literal reset button so he can start fresh, it represents a new page in his life, away from all the restrictions of Shonen Jump. He chose creative freedom over a safe future and took one helluva gamble. Which honestly just makes me respect the man even more
@sirensong17944 жыл бұрын
I agree, I think missed opportunities is the name of the game here. It also becomes more frustrating when certain things are foreshadowed or teased (like Giorno making an appearance) but never happen, and it becomes apparent that it can't happen, because it undercuts the tension in the story. Araki tends to do whatever he wants with Jojos, which is great for him. He can be creative and play with a lot of different ideas, but it can come at the cost of some internal consistency or lingering regret for the elements that never got a chance to shine. Like, going back to Giorno, he's given several potential reasons in the narrative to be around for Stone Ocean. Pucci and the thing with DIO's other kids, the fact that the Speedwagon Foundation and Jotaro are aware of him (and even allied in PHF, but the canonicity of that is shaky), heck, it could've been that GER had a "disturbance in the force" moment with regards to reality. Even if Jotaro doesn't want to trust or interact with Giorno for DIO reasons, what about Josuke? Or any of the other stand users in Morioh? Is it really that impossible for Jotaro to go "hey, some shit's going down. Could use some help". And it's not that there aren't reasonable explanations we could make for why they aren't there. Jotaro still doesn't know if he can trust Giorno, especially with an issue regarding his father. Maybe Josuke is busy, or has decided to pursue a normal life away from stand users and battles and all that, and Jotaro's trying to respect that. It's not even that I wish either of them made an appearance and saved the day (though to be honest, I wouldn't have minded too much. It could've been framed as the Joestar's legacy's final victory over DIO, ironically including his own blood, and been the climax of the OG universe that way), but I can see how not even getting an explanation for why the others can't be there is frustrating, and make it seem like Araki wants to ignore certain parts of his story once it no longer interests him.

but its not like the reset affected ppl that were not in part 6, like giorno is still the mafia boss in the new universe just as emporio was still himself since he didnt died before
@sirensong17944 жыл бұрын
@@gdxnsk That's true, thanks for clarifying. I've always been a bit confused as to who the reset affected. But this isn't really "the reset doesn't affect them" and more so "if Araki doesn't want to use a plot thread anymore, I think he should at least tie it up instead of leaving it dangling there".

The ending is so poetic, we are with emporio, both us and him are left behind as the new saga begins, we are there seeing it happen, it doesn’t matter if we were ready to say goodbye to the old universe, because now it’s all gone, the ending stings more than usual deaths, even when the characters die, their memories live on through the world, but now that world that held the memories of all of our beloved characters has been wiped clean

After reading part 6 there was a period of many thoughts about the story as a whole and the ending...but I just kinda got set with the fact that I was just happy to see all the characters living a normal and happier life, not having to go through all the suffering they did, Araki created a story and characters that made me really wish for them to just be happy...
