The photo used in the title is not Tampa, but from the old sulfur springs in White Springs, near Steven Foster state park (where my aunt is a park ranger) closer to the panhandle. Been there many times, and it is an absolute architectural wonder.

That was fascinating. I grew up in Tampa and took some classes at the university. The architecture is fascinating. Wouldn't it be cool to go back in time and see it in its heyday.

I was just at the Hotel to see the Victorian Christmas. It was beautiful. I can only imagine what it was like back in the day.

If it was Sourced in TAMPA, it was Most Likely Sulphur Springs Pool on the Hillsborough River. I Live about 5 Minutes From the Current Man Made Pool there. Back THEN it was the HIGHLIGHT of Tampa's Swimming Area's. Until the Water Quality was considered To dangerous For Swimming.

@@JungleLeeLewis Hi Cody, thank you for the first reply to my statement. I can certainly understand your logic, but if you will research "White Springs, FL history", you will see this same picture in that town's history. Also, the picture in the video is not congruent with the other photos. I was fortunate to swim in that spring in the 1950's. My great grandmother visited the spring in the early 1900's. I am interested in keeping history as accurate as possible. There was a Joe B Klay printing company in Tampa many years back. Any chance you are related? I would like to communicate further if you are interested.

Lived in tampa for decades. Dude built like this is a busier place. Not at all surprised to hear it’s rarely been filled. To quote myself after first learning of the hotel, “yeah but why? Even today I doubt there’s 500 people in hotels in downtown tampa

I'm a 6th Generation Tampa Citizen. My Father Remembers When Dale Mabry was a 2 Lane Dirt Road. And It was NOTHING But Pastures and Orange Groves. He Grew Up in Seminole Heights, BUT our Family's LAND was where the Medical Park is on Zambito and Bearss. THAT'S "BEERSS" NOT Bear's. The city has changed A Lot in MY 40 years.. I can ONLY Imagine What a 77 yo man Thinks...

I was there recently. I was told that the cross thing on everything this guy owned ment nothing. that's not true. he didnt just pick the Templar cross and put the freemason crescent moon on top for no good reason. Most of the building does not seem to be Victorian. especially the architecture. it looks more french or tutor of 16th century. I think they need to re evaluate their facts.

Extremely hard to believe this was built in 1890s more like founded and inherited. They want us to belive they built this while at the same time living in simple wood houses and riding horses and carrying sticks in the mud.

It's important to understand the history behind "dumb things" like this, otherwise they get torn down and the history fades to black forever. People not understanding history are part of the reason we see civil unrest turn to civil war over and over again, often times for the same things that were fought over centuries before.
