I saw the post to and I had the exact same thoughts as you. And I feel like the "intern" thing is just damage control and that irked me a lot about them not taking responsibility for they do. Probably won't be supporting them anytime soon.

It would be so much better to just say "hey we'd like to make a bushing talisong z you want but we are in a difficult situation and we need funds" and just make a collection on Kickstarter or something. Instead they thought "We are gonna make a meme balisong nobody asked for, charge 500 bucks for it and make it limited to rise founds and we won't explain a thing until they get upset". How stupid and unrealistic does it sound

Unfortunately they only have 61 left to sell of the 500 made, so it's pretty much guaranteed they are indeed going to sell them all. And if they do follow through with making the bushing Talisong Z after this, suddenly they'll be in everyone's good graces and this drama will be swept under the rug. It's sad but also expected from the balisong community.

i get the moral situation but in this case i kind of have to separate the art from the artist in this instance because people still fully back the Talisong Z and i bought a Tatersong without the knowledge of company behavior but also for a friends collection

The reason I think it’s OK for them to say that you should buy that valor song is because I can see that they’re in a tough money situation and it’s not some thing they’ve dug themselves into they’ve been doing pretty good so far and unless I’m missing some thing they really just need funding so if they don’t get money somehow, unless everybody is going to collectively donate for that I really doubt they’ll be able to have the funding either way

I got a tatersong without being aware of the drama. I like the knife as a collectors item and it'll arrive shortly, but I feel conflicted now that I know how they've handled this. On one hand, I love the knife as just being something to have, but on the other hand I feel guilty having supported them with my dollars without being aware of how they were behaving

With the ridiculous amount of success every "dessert warrior" themed knife has had in the past few years, it's no wonder that the tatersong even came to fruition and to market. It's a novelty knife, and a goofy conversation piece. And trust me, there is a hiney for every seat... it will sell. Some will love it and some will love to hate it 😂😄😆🤣

The worst concept of news here in my opinion is the bushing tali z. I LOVE BEARINGS AND EAT THEM EVERY DAY.

I don’t find anything to not like about the tatersong. Maybe the price but really it’s not that out there at sub 400. The material doesn’t seem to be an issue either since it is for bearings and the real gripe would be how 6000 feels compared to 7000 but they have that covered literally with ceracoating. I wouldn’t buy it but it seems fun. Lol. After you said they were getting flack I went and made a positive comment 😊 with the nrb light I have one and it’s so much lighter than my other balis it gets really squirmy trying to get used to it. I am using it primarily to learn ladders. Too me it seems good for people that like flipping plastic balis but want a metal trainer to go between. Don’t know how many of those people exist tho.

Guess they didn't exactly fly off the shelves lol I gotta say, if they had priced it at around the price of a talisong z (still overpriced) I might have gotten one just for collector value, especially with the fun packaging gimmick. But 385+shipping is just too much with how many awesome balis exist at that price. Definitely feels like a failed cash grab from flytanium

Im honestly not the biggest fan of flytanium. I was very underwhelmed with my talisong, and the alchan lucha handles feel incredibly unrefined. Their business practices, and communication with the community, seem very suspect as of late. Doubt ill be doing business with them in the future

Idk man, I felt like that intern comment was pretty obviously a joke. That it was a PPPS... on their post and that they "had been dealt with" is just them trying to be light hearted. It was definitely not the right way to go about it, but I'm at least glad they're not doubling down and instead trying to have a sense of humor.

How is it any different from squid raising the price of the squidtrainer only to release the bushing version after the old ones sold out lol and then they said that they added bushings without raising the price (because they already raised it previously lol) companies exist to make money, this is literally a non issue imo I'd instabuy a bushing tali Z lol
