Το πραγματικό όνομα του ναού είναι "Ηφαιστείο"! The real name of that temple is "Hephestio"!

Actually in Latin characters it is "Hephesteum" or "Hephaesteum". But even earlier than that name, it was knows as Theseion or "Theseum".

Do any of the statues from the original temples remain intact? It would be awesome to see them remade and put back in place to get the full effect

Unfortunately only a few fragments remain. They can't be restored.

This Temple to should restored to its original majesty and its destroyed statues replaced with top quality reproductions.

No, no windows at all. Very rarely did the ancient greek temples had windows in the cella.

@@Lebrenth The temple's interiors were not intended to be used by the people like in todays churches, mosques etc. The religious practice was taking place outside the entrance, at the altar. The cella was the "house" of the god/goddess and his/her statue. They would open the doors and let some light in, or use candles. In any case, the doors of the temples were very big so when opened, they would let plenty of light inside. No people would be inside with the doors closed.

Were most statues painted in life like colors? What exactly took place inside the temples?

In ancient Greece and Rome, all the marble statues were colourfully painted to look life like. Usually only priests were allowed to enter the interior of the temples, where the god's statue was and the treasures. All the rituals with the public participating took place outside, near the altar. During these rituals and sacrifices, the temple's doors were wide open and the crowd could see the statue of the god looking over the events.

αν λυπούμαστε εμείς οι Έλληνες που βλέπουμε τον πολιτισμό μας διαλυμένο, ας σκεφτούμε τους πρόγονους μας τι ένιωθαν καθώς έβλεπαν τούς εκάστοτε να τα διαλύουν. η εκδίκηση είναι ένα πιάτο που τρώγεται κρύο.
